If Rovers did ground-share with us, we wouldnt have any seats left! Plus more and more trouble outside the ground. There would be small positives if they ground-shared with us, but a lot more negatives

Their fans will want Twerton, it's a shorter trip, they have history there and they'll get bigger crowds than at ours or Whaddon Rd.

The trouble is that Twerton Park itself needs quite a bit of work doing to it to bring it up to current football league standards - so they'd end up shelling out even more cash to move there on top of their spend on the new stadium.

The Board may well be interested in getting into bed with Wovers, because if we scratch their back they'll scratch ours.....the lease on the the CG runs out relatively soon......with the best time frame available it will be several years before they can franchise us to Chippenham....so somewhere to play while they're waiting would be helpful.
Bit like the NHS for MKD.

From the Gasheads Forum, Looks like it is Twerton
"As a football club we have to listen to our members and the majority have said they would want us to go to Twerton Park."
"We will be working to try to make that happen. I know there are concerns about the facilities but we have had a look down there and it is not actually as bad as people might think."
Looks like a return to Twerton then.

Martin Starnes, or whatever his name is, was on the radio this morning talking about it. The club are 'exploring' the idea. He said the club would be very interested and the ball is in their court. :x What I don't understand is that do people not remember the trouble at the rovers game?!!

Looks like a return to Twerton then. Gazza, like I said above, the Rovers lot might not have the choice of Twerton in the end. It'll all depend how much it costs to bring the place up to FL standards. Also, it's already got two teams sharing it - Bath City and Team Bath - so what if the second club (presume TB) has long term lease agreement already?

There's also the aspect that if they were to groundshare with us for a couple of seasons, that may then delay us being able to get on with the CG redev. And if it really p's off the locals, may cause such a backlash as to scupper any ground redev at all. Both of which aspects the more I think about them, the more they worry me - it would be a bit unfortunate to scupper our own ground redev by helping Wovers out with theirs.

My interpretation of the CG plans would be no? The major could be done over a summer. As the pitch isn't being turned and the existing fotprint isn't to be changed wouldn't it be like blakcpool or plymouth who've remained in situ, albeit with a reduced capacity for a period of time?
