Has anyone received tickets for this yet?

No and ordered 10 days ago. If not received in post tomorrow,  will give the club a call.

Btw I thought we only received an initial allocation of 1500 tickets and haven't seen anything from the club to suggest more have gone on sale.  So where is everybody getting the figure of 1800 sold from?

Received my tickets in post a couple of days after ordering. Worth checking with club that they sent yours as I needed to do for Newport match.

Received my first 3 2 days after ordering. Ordered another 1 the day they went on general sale not yet received that one. Going to call tomorrow as a friend has ordered one and his hasn't arrived yet either.
Heard on BBC Wilts that were expecting a crowd of 1800+ so we must have requested the additional seats.
Fucking can't wait not making a prodiction though.

Picked the Warsaw ticket up on Saturday.

Don't trust the accuracy of the posting out process.

The Orient & Barrow tickets were also down as collect from club and yet both came through the post. Separately.
Not complaining, but just hope, conversely, that tickets ordered for delivery by out of town fans are not sat at the club waiting for pick up.

That's great support, should be a really good atmosphere.

Just hope that the morons who ruined the Stevenage game aren't in attendance, as we don't need any further FA charges coming our way.

It is great support at this level for sure.

And yes the 2nd point is a very valid one, when we travel in higher number unfortuntely so do the more brainless element of our fanbase.

It is strange. A number of clubs are taking really good numbers to their away ties this weekend. I think Mansfield are 3,000 odd to Donny.

Why do home supporters seem so disinterested in turning out, though.

Mine have arrived today having also ordered on the 19th.
I did email ELLA HUNTER-GIBBS [email protected] who was really helpful and confirmed that the tickets had been sent.
She also said that if they hadn't arrived by Friday to contact her and they would reprint them and get them to Walsall for collection which I presume would be via the supporters coaches.

Re. the distribution of red flares onto the pitch by some numbskulls. Would I be expecting it to be the unwise option, to hope that if a group of fans identified an individual having just thrown a flare, they could/would/should make that individual known to stewards. I am only suggesting this in light of possible action being taken against the club/fans by the footballing authorities, and also is pointing the finger at an individual(grassing up)worse than a ban on fans at away grounds, particularly as we are doing so well away.

Self policing is probably the way forward, although if the club really wanted to identify said culprit(s) then there is CCTV at most grounds which I assume has to be of decent quality.

Superb effort to have flogged 1800+, I thought 1500 would have been ample.

I don’t think the police ever conduct searches on a club’s behalf, stewards often give a pat down but I don’t think they are genuinely trying hard to find anything.

smoke canisters seem to be very popular with football fans these days. At the 3 games I have been to this season at Stevenage, Northampton and Crewe the red canisters have been thrown towards the pitch  when we have scored and Liverpool fans did the same yesterday at Goodison Park. I am sure there are many more examples. I think they are probably 'safer' than flares, but obviously would smart if they were to hit someone directly.

I am conflicted.

They look cool.
But I don't want people to bring them in because of the likely sanctions on the club for doing so. And to be honest, not sure how safe they are.

Counter point - down to grown ups to be responsible and not to take stuff into the ground.

I don't think Inspector Knacker will do security checks unless the club pay them for the privilege, so that's another way these numb nuts potentially cost the club cash that they don't have!

There is an anecdotal story knocking about regarding a Newcastle fan taking a screwdriver into SJP just before the end of the Ashley era to fix his own seat that had been broken for 2 years and despite requests for it to be fixed nothing being done - and this was an example of the fact that the whole place had been left to go to rack and ruin!

I called bullshit on it, I wasn't allowed to take a bottle of Buxton Spring into Brunton Park the last time I went without giving the cap to a steward!

Right in a proper pickle now.
Didn't realise at Walsall we had behind the goal and part way down the side. I've ordered 4 tickets 3 together 1, 2 days later. I am taking my mates son who also bought a couple days later and were all split up. I've got 3 behind the goal and 2 down the side, if they were older it wouldn't pose an issue however the 2 tickets down the side are for an 11 and a 9 year old. Does anyone know of anyone in a similar position who will swap either 2 behind the goal for 2 down the side or 3 down the side for 3 behind the goal

not for the FA Cup as BBC and ITV have the rights to that tournament. I think the only chance of watching it is if a foreign broadcaster decide to show it and then it's possible to stream. I'm doubtful Walsall v Swindon is likely to be picked up by a TV company, that said Australian TV may be interested given the Clem factor?

Also sometimes betting companies pick up feeds for games to be shown live but thats fairly rare but it does happen.

As you suggest its highly unlikely any foreign broadcaster will pick the feed up. Australia is unlikely as it will be 2am KO over there.

EDIT: Batch beat me to it!

I've watched town cup games via Bet365 in the past (don't recall if they were FA or league), but nothing to suggest on the app at the moment that if I put a bet on I can stream?

I watched 1 from Bet365 in the past and it was definately an FA cup game but IIRC it was a non league side we were playing. Could have been Dartford away when we won 5-1?

I hold out hope but doubt it will be covered.

The Dartford game was carried by ESPM+ in the USA, hence why streams were available.  The FA Cup is sold as a collective abroad so the only games available to stream will be those picked-up by either the Domestic TV or Foreign TV stations.  Usually ESPM+ is a good bet to check what will be available as they have a few games more than Domestic.

Whilst obviously the news there isn't positive, at least they are being pro-active and making fans aware of the situation. It does seem bizarre that the hostelries of Walsall aren't looking to make any money tomorrow. Sounds like the best idea is to head to Birmingham according to the Walsall Police!

It feels wrong to say this, however, I’m going too. Or baiting fans.

Regardless of whether there was any 'baiting', do you think its acceptable to respond by tearing down advertising hoardings and throwing bins about? I don't personally think the steward that was 'baiting' was very professional in his behaviour at all but the response to it, seemed a little over zealous.

Pre match not wanting a free Saturday or a trip to Mansfield on 8th Jan in St Matthew's Hall.
Unless we draw Mansfield in the 3rd round that is.

First meeting in the FA Cup since 1959 at the CG.
Anyone go along to that one?

We lose 5-0 here about once every 25 years and it's overdue.
Don't think we'll get pommeled by the Saddlers today.
Matt Taylor has had a steady start to his stint in the saddle here.
Wouldn't have objected to him taking the reins at the CG.

A pity that the club outside the ground is home fans only now.
How do the locals near the ground survive in such barbaric conditions with no pubs nearby.
Glad we don't have to come here again. Ohh..

Feeling a bit downbeat, maybe after all the talk of murder & death on here.
Or could just be the time of year.
Anyway, getting into the festive spirit with a pint of Wychwood Bah Humbug.

Think we'll do ok today which will make putting up with the lack of leg room in the away end worthwhile.
Hopefully people won't end up having to share one seat space with 2 or 3 others.

Finally the question to ponder, is do Electric Squirrels, even the enigmatic ones, still hide their nuts in grass?

You are missing nothing.

There is already a thread called "Taylor out?"

Quote
Is this too early?
Club is no better than last year and worse than Clarke’s first year
Horrid team building and I know he is not experienced but he doesn’t seem to have it as a manager
So many poor players, formation stubbornness , players who are incredibly unfit and poor substitutes.
I feel for him but I just don’t think he has it yet to be a league 2 manager. Hopefully he proves me wrong
Thoughts? Get someone experienced in rather than replying on ‘potential ‘ again?

In many respects the Club is worse.

I agree to an extent but unfortunately the damage is done for this year and I’m actually worried for our league position.
Taylor has yet to show me any good management yet though, guy doesn’t know how to turn a game around for the better and hasn’t done anything yet mid game to change a game except make it worse. I just don’t think he is a league manager yet

Taylor is not the problem, it’s the recruitment.
The club is ran by a fraud.

poor bloke has been dealt a load of shit!

Since Walsall moved to the Bescot in 1990 Swindon have won there 4 times, drew 5 times and lost 4 times, scoring 18 times and conceding 15 times.

In our last 10 visits Swindon have won 4 and drawn 4 with us losing just twice, scoring 16 goals and conceding 10 times.

Our biggest win came there on Boxing Day 2014 with a 4-1 win in the snow with 1,204 Town fans making the trip.

Yeah for some reason Gladwin, Payne and Williams can't seem to all play together but any of the 2 seem to work fine, Williams for me is the man on form and Payne has scored a few goals recently so that line up makes sense.

Crich was blatantly not fit on Tuesday and needs work, Dabre is very hit and miss but hes a little livewire, he looked far better when moved to an attacking position than playing at wingback on Tuesday.

Even with 9 subs and a MoM-winning midweek performance, the General is demoted, while Fox makes the squad. I thought Gordon was the pick of Tuesday’s youngsters. Odd.
Agreed.

Yeah for some reason Gladwin, Payne and Williams can't seem to all play together but any of the 2 seem to work fine, Williams for me is the man on form and Payne has scored a few goals recently so that line up makes sense.

And what a great option to have come on after half time. That’s just as good a reason to have one of those three not start as much as I agree they don’t seem to gel when all three start

I guess you mean Fox mate?

Fox did ok but IMO wasn't as much a threat as Gordon when he came on, still looked a good prospect though.

Talking of decent prospects....I see Marcus ifill has been going down a storm since his £200k transfer from Town to Brighton for their U23s.

So far this season he has played 9 games, scored 4 times and got 7 assists!

I really hope that this helps his confidence in the penalty area. We have all been critical of his final product (as Steve Hale just said), but hopefully this will be the first of many.

Garner:
- Pleasing performance
- Started well. Good control
- Scored great goal
- Then had to roll up our sleeves
- They came on strongly. We defended well in the second.
- Transitions were good. We should have scored more
- KKH gets there all the time and opportunities will come. Dressing room please for him
- Wollacott is one of those people who can be quiet all game but still concentrate and be there when needed
- Thought we were pretty comfortable and should have scored another to make it less tense
- Game management was excellent by Gladwin
- Formation depends on the game. We have intelligent players who can change within games
- Travelling support is fantastic.
- Really pleased we can send everyone home happy
- Huge consistency to get 8 wins away from home on the bounce
- Two tough away games in the league now
- You get who you get in the cup. We'll sit down and prepare for whoever
- Take anyone of the top 6 in Premier or Crystal Palace, which is Garners home club.
- Will be trying to get in the 4th round

Well I'm back,  in cirencester for the night

once the game settled we started far the brighter and after Simpson scored I thought we'd push on. But that slowly came undone. Like Harrogate they denied us space and we didn't know what to do. An equaliser duly came but this was our own fault, an out of sorts Williams misplaced a pass, they broke down or last, nice cross in and a simple header for their real centre forward. not much defensive pressure from us though.

second half Walsall started brightly and always seemed to have a man over on the wide areas

but we grew into and started to take over a bit. A deep cross looked to have been overhit, but it was kept alive and KKH cooly slotted home.

after that we started to struggle again and we can't under a fair bit of pressure with Walacott saving our bacon among others . At times we looked very stretched and vulnerable.

but a win is a win. bring on man United away (or bloody Hartlepool)

Would have been home at 6 if I didn’t have to drop my lad off at Stratford.
Easier to get to Dynamo Warsaw then a Swindon home game.
For the record I like the Black Country folk, always have done as done plenty of work up there a few years back. Even this despite a steward trying to remove my flag.
Walked down and politely asked him what he was doing?
He said, Eets blocking tho Advertising?
I said it’s not, pulling back the flag, “look nothing behind it.
He said, “ Yow alriote I’m from Wolver’ampton and Carnt sey.

Was fine and left it alone. I’m sure you might see it behind the goal :)

Took my son to his first away match today, cracking atmosphere in the away end topped off by a winning goal in front of the Town fans, couldn't ask for more.

Did anyone else see the Town fan on the pitch after our 2nd? The guy jumped into the pile of players celebrating on the ground, threw his arms round McKirdy and gave him a massive bear hug, steward couldn't get him off of him.
I fear with that and the smoke cannisters the FA may not look too kindly on us.

Could easily have got a 3rd when JML broke late on, an easy pass to Simpson would have put him 1 on 1 with the keeper but instead he kept it, took on 2 defenders and lost the ball.

Spoke to some Walsall fans after the game, decent bunch who were very complimentary about our style of play and away following.

Anyone else on here see the chaos in the train station after? Was very odd. Waited for ages for a train while sets of fans threw stuff at each other across the platform. I got hit in the face with a coin  ::)

Yeah, special cunt-of-the-day mention to the Town 'fan' who decided to throw a lit flare over the tracks towards a group of Walsall fans, including some little kids.
Thankfully it hit the power lines and fell onto the tracks.

At times we looked very stretched and vulnerable.

but a win is a win. bring on man United away (or bloody Hartlepool)

he's a star man,
flying  down the right,
his name is kessler Hayden,
and he's fucking dynamite...

That is a fantastic song - was that sung today or have you just penned it ?

We give the ball away originally and the defending could have definitely been better but I think their winger has done well to keep the ball, find the man inside, stay in space to get the ball back and deliver a decent cross in.

Iandolo has done well for our winner. Watching the highlights even I was expecting it to go out for a goal kick!!!

It was sung at Crewe also. I think (but could be wrong) I've heard Liverpool fans sing it before also but for the life of me can't work out who it would be about. Edit - Leicester and Youri Tielemans FWIW.

Works perfectly for KKH.

Venkman - good luck trying to piece together some Walsall views on the match from their forum. 100+ posts after the match of which the majority are a deep dive into their last few years of mediocrity - an utterly depressing, and at times familiar read. Good club Walsall and I’ve always found their fans a friendly bunch so I hope they have some excitement soon!

Cracking result, the match has been well covered above but I’d just add that I thought our rear guard action at the end was brilliant with special mention to Crichlow when he came on who threw himself at everything. Match winning save from JoJo - Foderingham-esque.

Also, love the way Wilkinson puts his hands to his ears when Walsall equalise - Someone should have reminded him he was playing at home!

Right in front of us in the side stand. No. The player was looking for one and although there was no ball contact their player went down clearly looking for one shielding he ball without really playing it which the ref IMHO didn’t think twice about. Seen them given and giving Taylor TBOTD it would look like one from his side of the pitch.

Disappointed that some idiots made a nuisance of themselves, yesterday.  I used to live in the West Midlands and on visits to Walsall found the home fans to be a friendly, knowledgeable bunch.  Also, Matt Taylor deserves our respect, always gave his all in a Swindon shirt.  So, for those who let of flares in the ground and most stupidly in a pub, you are letting the club down.  Swindon Town are in a delicate position with the F.A., you are hurting the club by making matters worse, let alone risking injury to yourselves and to others.

I'm very much at the old git end of the support and don't like having to stand up for 90 minutes. Used to be okay with it in the old days but am happy to sit down and clip when we score. May even stand up for a few seconds.

That being said, we were "stood" in front of five knobs who were throwing themselves about when we scored. One gentleman got really upset and said so, to be threatened by them. I'm sorry to sound like my father but all they seemed to be capable of shouting out was "peado c**t" to various people. We moved closer to the right hand end of the stand and watch the game, seated.

Current state of society, I suppose but I don't like it. I too hope that the distance to Barrow will put them off but, saying that, our last game at Carlisle was marred slightly by the chanting of support for Tommy Robinson and dislike of Sinn Fein

I think the point is that there are a small section of our ‘fans’ that are acting like complete dicks every away game and it’s starting to get tiresome. Another incident on Saturday was when a group decided to take it on themselves to open the gates to the stand so they could go for a smoke outside the ground at half time. Then when the stewards tried to close the gate they charged it and just made further dicks out of themselves especially as some ended up getting locked out for the second half which was karma really! Was quite amusing hearing them bang on the doors during the second half as was entirely their own fault.

Well, that was a long old day with a cracking result at the end, although we did our best the throw it away at the death.

Day started badly when the fxxxg bus left 5 minutes early in Calne and the next service was cancelled. A detour to Nam for the train :(

Had a few in the Trocadero in Brum centre which was packed...(xmas Market and all that). :pint:

Train up to Walsall, although the bar was closed...

Great result and then a right drag of a train journey back.....got in at 11pm knackered.  I think i decided that Walsall is a ground that i will drive to in the future.

We played very well until we gifted them a goal because we fannyed about...then it was all them.

I really expected them to nab an equaliser at the end...Wooly did well there a couple of times.

That Bescot station was freezing waiting for the next train to come in.  I made sure there was enough distance between me and the coin throwers. :(

Pretty please with sugar on top, can we please get a top Premiership club away.....Please!!!

For now...Orient beckons...then Walsall at home again for me.

It’s when the wankers light them on trains and in bars it becomes a problem.
As for throwing them on the pitch only needs one mistake and it could accidentally land on a small kid or family, that’s all I’m saying.

Not everyone wants a tartan rug and thermos experience, though.

I’ve done some really stupid football related things in years gone by - nothing monumentally stupid but stupid nonetheless. Probably chinning a Millwall fan in the Intel (as was) wasn’t the best idea in hindsight.
I could ask what a Millwall fan was doing in the Intel!😀

Tbh, that’s what I asked them. There were 3 sat in the row in front of me and I asked why they were taking tickets away from home fans. They said ‘because we’re Millwall and you wouldn’t have the bollocks to do that at The Den’. Damn right, I said. Whereby he called me a pussy. So I chinned him. All hell let loose and Town fans behind me joined in and there was also another group of Millwall fans at the bottom of the Intel who rushed up.

Right old kerfuffel at half time in the bogs, too. Goes to show what an afternoon of beer and brandy can do for your decision making.

jheez the way some of you old gits are going on anyone would of thought theres been a mass riot on the pitch at every game.

its a little pyro, next youll be suggesting we sit down and clap when we score.

hoardings/ seats at Stevenage wasnt on at all, agreed. but a smoke bomb really isnt that big of a deal. when European clubs do it with proper flares that will actually set things on fire everyone gets really excited about it....

Flares and smoke bombs is a Johnny Foreigner thing done in that Europe.
It isn't British so bloody well pack it in!

I was a Sporting Lisbon v Porto game a few years ago where smoke bombs were let off all round the stadium. Nobody seemed in the least bit bothered.

Totally agree that not everyone wants a rug and thermos experience but some do.

Perhaps the club could arrange a separate area like the family stand for the lively people. Perhaps it be called the "Wankers on coke" stand.
