Pork Pie Pele joins Portchester.
Whoever they are.
Jesus. He's skipped a few steps on his decline down the league's there. Wessex Prem is what 9th tier of something. That's a couple of hundred on a sunny Saturday territory. I'm assuming he still lives local and fancies a game because I doubt it's a pay day for him.

Portchester being the original town or at least for some centuries. Portsmouth being the harbour. Shame it never became Wallingmouth in the way most water towns take the namesake of the river which runs to a natural opening. The beauty of place name etymology is that it doesn't always make geographical sense. Some places just get named (or renamed) after a prominent settler/pillager instead. The above two localised places are much better than Grospot anyhow...not overly difficult when it's a literal translation of Rough Bank!

Still love the City always have done, part of me. Portchester Castle holds many memories as a kid and still get down there for a walk around. Reminisce looking across the Solent and the memories come flooding back. Nan is buried in the Portchester cemetery and the youngest flaunts with being a Pompey fan which has caused a few arguments. As I keep telling him you have to choose only one.

Yeah, it's not a bad city but I'm only going off less than 5 visits (might be 3, could be 4) over a length of time. You'll definitely be much better placed to make an accurate onion Yep! The kid can only choose one! Also, I'm a little aware of the thread title. So with that, was Thompson the last Swindon player to play for Pompey (going from Swindon and then to Pompey at some point, not the other way round) or was it someone else?

For a fee yes….(to my knowledge) Si Ferry rocked up at Portsmouth after his contract here ended. I’m sure there are overs who have moved Swindon to Portsmouth in similar fashion

Will never forget him. The most influential player for me that made me follow Swindon.

Same for me, he used to own an off license almost next door to my school, Drove Secondary, we used to go see him and chat football most days, he always had time for us boys back then, a great man. That was around the 78/79 season when he was at his absolute peak.

I have participated in a few standing ovations at the CG over the years but by far the most impressive and loudest was the one Kammy received when he walked out at the CG when he was Bradford City Manager.

A pity to lose Odimayo. Decent at RB or CB. Probably under used last season & didn't let us down when he did play. Passing could have been worked on and that was no worse than O'Brien.
Seemed like an ideal fit for the develop & sell on model? Two year deal with an option, job done.
I reckon he'll do well at Northampton.
