I have 'invested' a sum of around £5,000 in STFC over the last 13 years. In return I have been privalidged with watching sub-stand mediocre football for most of them! Bring it on!

I completely believe you CB, you seem like a trustworthy kinda guy I have full faith that you are telling the truth, and by the end of the season, we'll have a multi-millionaire in charge of the club, leading us on a glorious march back to the Premiership, after back-to-back promotions. Champions league winners in 5 years. You heard it here first

Now you're talking rubbish!, it'll take us at least 6 years to win the CL.

Champions League, my arse. Intertoto or death - that should be our rallying cry!  Cheesy

Trying to think logical about this, how much would a person have to 'invest' into STFC to make us finanicial stable. From what I have been led to believe:

1/ £5 Million to pay back Wills Family
2/ £450,000 to pay back Willie Carson
3/ £900,000 CVA payment outstanding.
4/ £100,000 Inland Revenue outstanding.
5/ Club still running at a loss.

Anyone else heard otherwise?

The monies that the Wills' have invested down the years are in the form of shares and loans, and underwritings probably to the tune of 9 mill.

Think back to the Brady situation....he took a small shareholding from SSW, wuth the promise of buying out the rest if things panned out successfully.....in other words if there was money to be made out of STFC then SSW was rightly entitled to be compensated in full.

 That largely remains the case.

Nevertheless....it now seems that even the most optimistic entrepreneur must realise that the dead hand of SBC, will mean STFC will never generate any profit.

Because of this it may be that any mythical individual with a few mill to waste, could persuade SSW....to sell for a nominal say 2-3 mill.

We really can't go down this season if we do we'll lose alot of money. It's a must that we survive.

Au Contraire, many clubs make a financial profit. I think people get too hung up on profits, it's cash flow that really matters.

Apart from your Man U's and Liverpools of this world, the only clubs that run at a profit for example Man City is because they sell their assets (Shaun Wright Phillips). In the Championship Reading are running at a profit, but not many others. How many sides in Division One are running at a profit? Swansea maybe, Huddersfield possibly, can't think of another.

OK Reg, so thats another club not making a profit, and they are a very successful side. My point being not many clubs do make a profit on paper, its not just Swindon town who are in the RED, a lot of sides are in worst financial shape than Swindon, especially at the level of the game Swindon find themselves.
Investment in a side like Swindon, with hopefully a new stadium, be it in Swindon or 15/20 miles away could be financially sound.

There are a few in league one including Southend and Blackpool. I wasn't disputing that a lot of clubs do make a loss but to say every single one is just plain daft. I know that it was probably an exaggeration but you clearly need to some more research into the matter before you make statements as a matter of fact i.e. Reading

Ok I will drop the matter, the figures I saw said Reading made a profit ... but other interpretations might say Reading made a loss.
I paid only a third of the amount of tax I should have paid last year and the year before and the year before and the year before, it is all down to how you produce your accounts, and getting the best accountant to produce the figures to the tax man if you make a loss. Anyone who runs their company or is self employed knows that.
Never said all sides made a loss, never stated it as a fact ...
