T'other day I was thinking about how I don't think the Wendies are quite out of it yet. Looking again it would take an even worse run than we are on to make that come true!

Now you've updated this it looks unlikely we will catch anyone even with a "good" run. We need something approaching monumental. We don't have the fire power to do that.

Don't think 52 will be needed though.

You say that...but...on current PPGs then only the bottom 4 will fail to reach 52. If everyone from Daggers upward at least maintain their current PPGs ratio till the end of the season they will all hit 52+

Surely some of those inside the bottom 4 need to play those just outside. Point taken though..

I expect so, PPGs is never going to stay exactly consistent so its not the best thing to go on...

Still odd to think we need title winning form to stay up yet Daggers dont even need to match their current 'over the season ' form to stay up. Makes the gap sound fucking huge!!

That's the three games in hand for you.

I can't believe we are 5 (five) from safety and everyone outside the zone has a game in hand. It IS a fucking huge gap. 6 points from out next 2 games will narrow it though Smiley

In the interests of staying happy, I decided to pretty much ignore the football this weekend and focus on the rugby instead.  (Well, that worked.)  Only saw the table in the paper for the first time this morning, and was even a little shocked with just how dead & buried we already are.

Have to keep pinching myself, but 24th place is a real prospect now...which I guess is what happens when you fail to win a game for over 2½ months.  Still can't quite believe we are where we are.  When the dust has settled, someone should write a football management textbook using STFC 2010/11 as a case study.  Utterly, utterly bizarre just how wrong everything has gone this season.

Isn't this thread a bit redundant now? Given that:

a) It clearly won't be 52 points required to stay up (more likely 48/49)
b) Whatever the target is, we clearly won't hit it due to our inability to, well, hit the target during games

Daggers need to win 4 from 12, they've won 6 from the last 12....they'll be fine.

Saturday more or less finished us off, save for something completely unlikely happening.

The only real issue left for us is whether we finish 24th in Div 3, for the first time.

Personally, I'd rather avoid it, especially with Plymuff being docked 10 points.

I'm with DV on this.

20th or 24th, it's all just as bad.
