The bloke we bought it off runs a boatyard. He’s hauling it out of the sea now and will assess the damage.

Went to insure it this morning and, as with everything Greek, it takes days of bureaucracy to sort it out.

Fucking nightmare all round. €3500 down the shitter I reckon.
Unbelievably, the Greek bloke we bought the boat off has offered to replace it free of charge with a slightly higher spec version! It’s not his fault we got totalled but he feels responsible for the mooring he gave us at the marina.

He said he can fix our boat but it’s a big job which he’ll do over the winter and then resell it.

Although he doesn’t know who hit us he is blaming the Italians! Reckless, he says. Too fast in the harbour!

Can’t believe the guy’s generosity!

Wow, that's amazing Audrey. I bet he actually got wankered on ouzo, secretly went for one last spin round the harbour in your boat for old times' sake and wrecked it and now he feels bad so he's offered to replace it and is blaming the Italians Smiley

*bearing. Unless you're picturing a very different scenario, with a touch of the old Greco-Roman wrestling about it. Might explain the bloke's generosity though, is Audrey the TEF's Audrey Valentine?

I was going to name it ‘Spartans’ - a nice Greek/STFC combo - but, as you can imagine, changing the name would involve another mountain of paperwork.

It was called Alexaki. Not sure what the new one is called.

Spartan is very apt. But yes changing a name may prove pretty difficult in reality.

Jesus fucking Christ! Went to the boat today and some cunt has wrecked it. Moored up in the marina and it’s been rammed. One fucking day, not had time to insure it.
Bad luck mate,  that's the sort of thing that normally only happens to me.
Hope it's not as bad as it first seemed, although doesn't sound good.
Good luck Sailor.
