That feeling when you help somebody. More specifically, when you are ABLE to help somebody.

I've been able to put a big smile on the face of somebody that has been good to my family and I, just when they needed it the most. So satisfying.
True what they say about giving being more satisfying than receiving. Good deeds, even small ones, make a whole lotta difference in life.

Spot on. "Four twenties ten seven". It's mental. I don't know how it's survived. At least the numerate Swiss French use septante, huitante and nonante to get over the worst mindfucks.

As someone who has always struggled with maths (and has worked almost completely for banks - go figure!) having to learn French and go through there numeric malarkey was a challenge. I agree with you about the Swiss French though, that makes much more sense (in my eyes at least)

You're right. I regularly see French people start writing an 8, then correct it to a 9.  French

Still, at least it's only their numbering system that's fucked.

My new keyboard and mouse arrived today, and I am very happy with them.

There was a time when I dreamt of fast cars and luxury houses, nowadays a decent keyboard will do me.

I just ordered this case for my Retropie. Ridiculously excited for it to arrive.

Finally got round to tiling our en-suite a year after buying everything for it. I hate any form of DIY but i'm pretty chuffed with the outcome.

I like this. I've often toyed with making a mame based system/emulator and whiling away the hours. How does RetroPie stand up? Never used Raspberry Pi, but that console's appealing.

Very decent. It plays everything I've chucked at it, although the N64 emulation is a bit wonky graphically.

That link is just the case though, you need to buy the raspberry pi separately and install. Also it took me a long time to set it up and install retropie, kodi, steamlink and all the apps but I'm a glutton for punishment and wanted to do it all manually (trying to learn Linux), but there are loads of blogs about it if you are good at google.

PS, retropie has a mame emulator built into it.

Thanks, should the mood fit and the time arise I'll get myself the kit and have a go then. I'm likewise a glutton for punishment - it's how this server the TEF sits on was configured from an os.

I did not know that Steam Link was available on the RPi.

I'm going to have to get one now.
