Just out of interest how many did they take?
According to the radio, between 350-400 so a good crowd for a Wednesday in Lancashire.

To be fair to them that's bloody good (we only took 243 last season on a Saturday - and they witnessed a hammering!), although I suspect it will have been swelled by being a 'new' ground for many.

I'm sure they must have crossed swords recently in non league football.

Possibly, makes it even more embarrassing that they manage so many more for a midweek game than we did for a Saturday?

Apathy levels are high here, and they're buzzing after finally getting into the third tier after 15 years. After they've spent a few years here they will be the same as us

Personally I don't give much of a shit about how many folk did or didn't, for whatever, reason go to Fleetwood. I care about how many opposition fans come to the CG, as that gives Po us money.

Rovers have sold 2000 of their 2800 allocation for their visit here (kerr-ching!), which is pretty good considering they're also expecting to take their full allocation of 4000 to Stamford Bridge next Wednesday. They're going to have an expensive week!

They're going to have an expensive week! This is good news, but the downside is the cost of policing for such games. Ideally you want something like Coventry....decent numbers and the vast majority civilised folk, so reasonable policing costs. When have we got Bolton? They're a decent bunch and usually have good numbers.....I remember being very impressed when we had the marathon LC games under Ossie, they were in Div 4 but still turned up for the replays. They've also has a decent start.

Midweek in August summer holidays...Wonder if many combined it with a week away. Not that it matters too much.

Coventry first game of the season this year was heavily policed. Even had those miniature WW1 tank-looking isolation booths. Of course it wasn't needed, but the level of policing at a game isn't always due to rivalries etc. Not to say there won't be heavy policing at the rovers/scum games but sometimes the police just want to make their presence felt I would imagine.

Encouraging signs at Reading. Jaap Stam claiming that they were the 'better side' after their 4-1 thumping at Newcastle yesterday. Already in Denial

Say what you like about Williams, but after the Chesterfield defeat he showed he was very disappointed in the players and the performance, he didn't go all "Jaap Stam" or "Arsene Wenger" and have a blinkered view of the game. It obviously had an impact and they worked on it as they showed fight and spirit against Gillingham by all accounts and got a well deserved draw.

Decent set of A-Level results today for the first class I've seen all the way through, so chuffed with that. Not as confident for the GCSEs next week though.
