it was -25 when i was here a couple of years ago, i'm fairly convinced that you don't notice the difference between -5 and colder, it's just fucking cold!

All depends on the wind guys. -36 didn't feel cold as there was no wind, whereas say -10 with wind chill feels colder.

I visited the inlaws in Perm, Russia over Christmas. Slightly dissapointed that the coldest day was only -20, but at least my snot froze. The record for the city is -42.

the coldest place i have ever been was Iceland's freezer warehouse, -30 and it used to snow on the ceiling. Even with thermal clothing on you had to have a break every 50 minutes. I had to go on a 1 day training course to be able to sweep the snow off the ceiling.

true that. wife hated winter in the uk because it was so damp and windy. the crisp cold is much nicer.

The coldest place I have been is Iceland, that can get pretty fucking nippy when the old biddies leave the freezers open.

Spending the weekend in the New Forest with dinner at the renown Alice Lisle Inn yesterday...a Fullers pub which is nice cos i love the Pride You could do a lot worse than spending a few days away in the Forest.....the peace is most welcoming. PS....Alice Lisle is worth a wiki google if you like your history.....celebrated celebrity in the Forest she is.
