Talking of ambition, this comes from the FGR forum.
Where do you start with that?
They finished 4 places lower than the "previous" best team in Gloucestershire (Cheltenham) and have never finished higher than them. Cheltenham had around 12% higher home attendances too.
If Swindon, a town and borough, with a population of around 210,000 struggled to break the 15k average in the Premiership then what hope does Stroud with a town and borough population of around 35,000 have?
Also their average attendance last season was 2,772 so to regularly support 15k crowds then they will have to have an up turn of 535% based on average crowds, or the equivalent of us getting 35,000 for home games.
Ambition is one thing but lets have some realism please.
Yeah, that's not so much ambition as Trumpian levels of completely divorced from reality.

Going by those numbers, they only need about 42% of the population of their borough attending...

Which would equate to us being able to get regular crowds of 88,000.

Admittedly they could draw on the pulling power of the masses of eco friendly vegans out there to support them but i doubt they would be able to cycle to the venue as they are all far too weak from their diet.

Win the Premier league a couple of times and they'll magically appear, from across the country and the globe.

On a slightly different tack I found myself watching Inside the Factory the other night. it was showing how sausages are made and I happened to look on Twitter to see if people concurred with my rather negative views of presenter Greg Wallace. Anyway it transpires that the showing of the programme coincided with #veganhour on Twitter (??) and there was self righteous uproar, plus fuck me they are all miserable and passive aggressive!

I have a (probably) totally irrational dislike of Greg Wallace, no idea why I just don't like him. The program about sausages was quite interesting though if you can get past GW.
