She was only born in Swindon....very difficult to reach the required standard when limited to the poor facilities that SBC provide. A proper Swindon Olympic swimmer was Jaime King....never won owt but took part in 3 Olympics. |

Wrong. She lived and swam here until she was 16. Swam for Tigersharks, who have a great pedigree. I appreciate you love the chance to knock the council but amateur swimming is one thing we can be very proud of. |

Yes, but she had to move away to further her career. SBC are wonderful....there are many thousands like myself who will have learned to swim in the small pool at Milton Road. There are 10 Olympic standard pools in UK. But there are plenty of 50 metre pools that would be good for training...they can be found in such places as Luton, Hitchin and Letchworth. Is it beyond Swindon to have such a facility? Answer: Yes, in the current political climate. |
