Got a bottle of merlot from one of the companies I collect from. A welcome surprise as I never expect anything, I've only been doing this round since March. I suppose it helps their previous postperson was a miserable cow and I've been fairly helpful Cheesy

Not usually the complaining kind, but had to contact Sainsbury today about a God awful Taste the Difference Lasagne I bought.

Really quick reply and they are on to it - no fobbing off, so far so good. Impressed.

Was there a finger in it? Or did the white sauce smell mysteriously of cum?

I really resent and avoid paying for things that might happen, like any kind of insurance that isn't a legal requirement.

I hope you never take out a mortgage with a family to support then.  In the words of Winston Churchill.....

'"If I had my way, I would write the word "insure" upon the door of every cottage and upon the blotting book of every public man, because I am convinced, for sacrifices so small, families and estates can be protected against catastrophes which would otherwise smash them up forever.
It is the duty to arrest the ghastly waste, not merely of human happiness, but national health and strength, which follows when, through the death of the breadwinner, the frail boat in which the family are embarked, founders and the women and children and the estates are left to struggle in the dark waters of a friendless world"

Blaring out Suede - Beautiful Ones in the car today.

Also, Kula Shaker Tattva..

Although, a colleague of mine has never heard of either band...then again he was born in 1993.

I did some tour managing with kula shaker a few years back. It was disturbing to realise that though they had been away for 10 years and seemed to be a relic of a bygone age Crispin was younger than me. I felt very old that day.  Mind you I'm just off to do a show with shed seven supported by mark Morris from the bluetones. I really have no idea what year it is.

There speaks a man who flogs insurance for a living

I don't flog anything for a living. I speak to financial advisers and have experienced the difference in peoples lives when they receive a pay out, including a 40 yr old work mate, who's recently gone through prostate cancer treatment.

The fact that this 18th century masterpiece looks scarily like David Cameron in drag.....

I work in the insurance industry, but avoid buying cover unless a legal requirement......
