Our neighbours apparent obsession with power tools and garden machinery. I thought it would be quieter when we moved to the sticks, but someone seems to permanently be fecking doing something be it lawn mowing/strimming/stone cutting etc etc.
Honestly think it was quieter when we lived in a town centre, albeit fewer drugs raids on neighbours here!

With the inevitable question ‘would you recommend to a friend’ as if people just casually sit around with their friends discussing these things.
Yes, I’d recommend submitting a meter reading with British Gas - delightful experience. You use an app & type the reading in. What? The same as every other fucking gas company. I’d imagine…
You get to spin a wheel after submitting a meter reading with Octopus. I won 800 Octopoints one month (worth about a quid of free electricity i imagine)

Had a letter from Swindon Borough Council today inviting me to take part in a residential survey which will help them understand what is better for me and that they would really appreciate it if I completed the survey🤣

Could you post the questions and context for the survey?

What's it about, it may be part of a revision to the local plan which everyone ignores then moans like fuck about when the plan is adopted and decisions are taken in accordance with what it says which the Council have tried to extensively consult the public on..... I don’t mind if they give me something for doing their work for them in my time If they are asking for your specifically asking for your opinions on things I'm not sure how it can be considered doing their work unless of course you consider that Council staff are telepathic?

People are quick enough to moan about a council doing something that they believe is a 'waste of time'. Surely by canvassing these opinions in say, a survey, potentially mitigates this?

When you buy something online and tick the box that says no to email promotions and news. Then you still get email bollocks sent anyway

Management companies for housing estate.
As our housing estate is still under development. Some of the area is supposed to be maintained by the developers, some by the council & some by the management company.
We have a few public bins on the estate that are always overflowing. There aren’t enough. Particularly the area by the shop/school/park.
It’s an ongoing issue to the point the local councillors are firing off emails to the company.
One of return emails got posted on the local facebook group.
Management company claim the bins are emptied every Friday (bullshit) because they were always full they put in a trial of adding a Monday morning collection but the bins were full again in a couple of days - so based on that the management company decided it wasn’t effective to collect it twice a week so went back down to once a week (?!)
They’ve also decided the residents are misusing the bins…by…get this…putting general rubbish & waste in them ?! When we should be taking our waste & rubbish home and using the proper waste disposal services provided by the council.
Then of course the thin veiled threat that more bins + more collections would significantly increase the over inflated yearly fee we already pay for practically fuck all & patronising correspondents like the one mentioned above.
Absolute fucking con.
