Are there any genuine Irish pubs left in Swindon? I.e. not chains but where people of Irish descent still congregate.
Used to be a few, but all gone methinks. The pub that preceded 12 Bar I remember in particular.
Good question and one I wouldn’t know the answer to although the Ship Inn that preceded 12 Bar dates back to 1847.

As opposed to none?
Is using an emoji the same as a question mark these days?

If you add exclamation marks to your question mark it's called an interrobang, which is a mildly amusing name. Great?!

Taking this back to trivial things that one doesn't understand, there is a lass in the village who trains guide dogs, saw her when I was walking back from the shop the other evening dealing with some arisings that her latest charge had deposited, how do blind people deal with their dogs shit?

Pretty sure they can tell when the dog is having a shit. Plastic bag on hand then run your hand down it's back? Should point you in the general direction of the dump.

I believe legally they don't have to, but many do. I guess a well developed sense of smell makes dog shite relatively easy to find...

Right apparently the dogs are trained to do it in specific locations (so I assume not in things like long grass unlike our dick of a dog!) plus there is a method... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/l5i3qJo1-oE

Being sent a survey request with everything I order online, or submitting a meter reading. "You've sent us a reading, how was this experience for you?" Why? FFS

Being sent a survey request with everything I order online, or submitting a meter reading. "You've sent us a reading, how was this experience for you?" Why? FFS With the inevitable question ‘would you recommend to a friend’ as if people just casually sit around with their friends discussing these things. Yes, I’d recommend submitting a meter reading with British Gas - delightful experience. You use an app & type the reading in. What? The same as every other fucking gas company. I’d imagine…
