Ours is about £34 per month, that's without a meter because it's apparently infeasible to fit one for my property.

I thought it was the other way round, it's beneficial to have a meter if rooms outweigh residents

My statement came through at £55 a month. Time to limit showers to once a week i think :-) I'm going to look into getting a meter installed. Thanks everyone

And is that a massive increase than before? If so, I would be on the phone to the supplier immediately!

If you aren't metered its based upon rateable value of the house.

£33 a month. Metered, family of 4. Our water usage is below average apparently.

We are metered. It is split £35/£25. Actually the £25 may be quarterly.

That sounds very high to me. I've never paid more than £30 a month. PS, if you're metered and your bills are high you may be looking at a small leak somewhere. Definitely worth investigating.

I pay £12 a month and I probably waste too much water. I don't know anybody who moved to metered supply who has paid more than pre-metered EDIT: Due to overpaying previously I'm now only paying £6 a month by direct debit

Spent 18 months with Thames Water's billing team 10 years ago before going to uni etc. Suffice to say a meter tends to mean saving money compared to rates if you're sensible and/or not a family of 7 living in a two-bed terraced home.
If, like Samdy, you've requested a meter but can't have one you get charged their Average Household Charge, which is as it sounds - the average of all metered properties, irrelevant of any residential situation.
Ours is about £25 a month on RV (Rateable Value).
