Sounds to me like you need a good women?
Does today's young lady still do the ironing for their fella? Much easier just to employ someone, usually a woman or women, to come in a couple of hours a week and clean and iron for you. I employed a lovely lady, up until recently, who used to come in and "do" for me. Sometimes, she'd bring along a couple of Slovaks to share the workload

Mine does. Although she invariably makes a complete hash of it and I have to re-do them. I'm sure that's just her way of getting out of doing the ironing.

With music on chores like ironing, washing up, hoovering can be very relaxing. Bang on Sippo.

Disagree - I expect my sales boys to look smart - they're client-facing. One must lead by example...

Quite old school thinking. As long as people get excellent results looks (within reason) shouldn't matter. That said I'm not advocating casual dress, just that if one of your two favourite shirts aren't available it should be worth worrying about, or getting annoyed about. You sound like the kind of boss I'd hate, prefer logic based management. You're not a micro manager obsessed with daily figures too are you?

It is old school, but that's the type of director I have. It's his company, and has been for 25+ years. Of course I'm obsessed with figures. I work in sales. How else should you judge it? I'm not sure you can pre-empt someone's management style judged on adopting a smart dress code though.
I think the original point of my post has gone somewhat amiss anyway...

You made the same crack about 2 years ago when I got the job... said team is twice the size now. Alarming for all concerned!
