True, I was only fishing.
I just think that there are too many useless twats going to too many useless "universities" and studying too many pointless "degrees"
What do you study?
Business, same course as Dave. It's a bit wanky in places but two separate placements is the main selling point. As much as I agree with the wanky degrees point, I wouldn't begrudge anyone going to University: it's a fantastic experience whatever you do, the course is only a tiny part of the value of it. Whether or not the Government should subsidise those sorts of degrees is something of a moot point thanks to Cameron and Clegg.

This is what I expected your answer to be. Pointless. That degree is worthless, expect yourself to be utilising the "skills, knowledge and experience" you have earned doing an ultimately shit job, like working in a call centre or something similar. Not trying to dent your ambition or anything but I've met shit loads of youngsters (fuck, even had a think about it myself) over the years who've ended up being shop assistants, call centre fodder and generally doing jobs that bear little or no relationship to their costly "qualification" The value of a degree in the UK has been eroded over the last 15-20 years that it is now worth little more than an A-Level was. And no, fuck off, I don't see why the tax payers should pay for that load of wank. Just my opinion like....

Just your opinion, but wrong. I already have a job offer which is significantly better than any of those you mentioned and I have eighteen months left of my course. As of February I'll be working on my second placement, which is an even more highly paid job with a pretty good chance of getting a grad role on the other side. As for worthlessness, two thirds of graduates from my course have a starting salary above £25k, with the average being about £32k. 85% go into further education or employment, with the vast majority of those being immediately into work. I'd ask you to revise your opinion but I somehow don't suspect you will. Nemo- do you have much to do with the School of Management at UOB or any of their teachers.
Er, the course is part of the School of Management and I know a fair few of the lecturers, why?

Being stuck in the house waiting for a delivery from.............Yodel.
A white van with a very confused looking driver stopped outside the house a few minutes ago, but then drove off again. Bet it was them and a) the same driver comes back about 4pm or b) the delivery comes tomorrow and they claim there was no-one in today.

Don't worry, if it doesn't come you can ring their excellent customer services who always give good clear accurate status updates of the delivery and don't make you ring the driver yourself. Oh.

I'm doing a BSc (Hons) in Computer Games and Animation at Brookes You know what, as a software engineer of several years I wouldn't have a clue about how a game like COD was created from scratch. Or how many people would work on it at a peak. I look forward to your insightfulness. Alternatively if you weren't serious and mean you are sitting around playing games I'll be very disappointed.

Back on topic, that bit they always show on Match of the Day when the 2 managers shake hands, hug and sometimes virtually bum each other on the touchline before the match starts when everyone knows that most of them fucking hate each other.

Maybe that is because most of them don't fucking hate each other.

There is a point in there to Ironside's post but, as usual, he over-simplifies and reduces it to black & white for effect. There are some useless degrees out there, but they do not form the majority. Whether you agree with the new (lack of) funding arrangements for higher education or not, it should at least kill off those degree courses that serve no useful purpose after qualification.
