Mines about the same age. Choice is a £300 fix for the current problem, doesn't mean something else might go wrong though, or 2k for a new boiler. Marvellous.
And you know it would go wrong when its freezing or on Xmas day - I'm biting the bullet and getting a new one. Not happy about it though, not one bit.

And when it is fitted....bite the bullet and get it insured for peace of mind....British gas will let you pay in installments with your bill by the way with regard getting a boiler put in.

Im not getting it done by BG and it comes with a 5 year guarantee anyhow. Can I still insure it ? Sussex- forgot to say that mate, Valiant are offering a 5 year guarantee if bought between now and xmas. A plumbing freind of the family said that Valiant are a top make (and they also make glowworm).

Good luck with both No old boiler jokes from me - that was already frowned upon when I mentioned to the wife that I could get £400 for her.

And to think I bought a Vauxhall because I thought it would be more reliable. I actually spent less on my Peugeot which I owned for longer Have you seen the JD Power surveys? Vauxhall have consistently ranked shit for many years. I've owned two, both have suffered catastrophic failures at relatively low mileages requiring expensive repairs (luckily one was under warranty). Thankfully Vauxhall number two is replaced by a Civic this weekend.....

I knew they weren't the most reliable, but I thought it wouldn't be entirely hard to be more reliable than a bloody Peugeot.
Apparently not.

why is it always 30/40 something year old women who think they should get something for nothing just because they spent a bit of money. i don't go to a mercedes dealership looking for an a class then demand i get an amg for the same price just because they're out of a classes. they don't do the same thing with handbags of fucking shoes so why argue the case over a bottle of wine that is 2 pounds more than the one they were drinking before. i don't give a shit if you don't come back again you pompus self loathing c**tjobs!
and yes this is also my status on fb right now

Mine has done a 135k and is still solid as a rock!! It may need a T Cut more than most but has never let me down.

Well it's in the garage now, so let's wait and see how much this is going to cost me.

I'm sure its of no consolation, but my last Mondeo did the same thing. Twice. Thankfully the second time it was still in guarantee from the first repair. So it ain't just Vauxhall!

Caliper wasn't seized. They just cleaned it up and re-greased the pads. All sorted for £65
