My German car has (don't fail me now) had 0 problems. I have also had Fords which have had no issues either. Guess I have been lucky with my cars!

Over 8 years of driving two Japanese cars - the Toyota went into the garage once for I cant remember what now - some belt and that was it. The Suzuki has been in the garage twice both when other people have driven into me.
Japanese is the way forward.

My Japanese Toyota is built in Derby!
It was only 1 1/2 years old when I bought it but had to go in for a warranty repair of the gear linkage cable within 6 weeks. Thank fuck it was warranty because that is a long job. Hasn't missed a beat since mind.
My shittest car was a Renault Laguna. Clutchx1, Gearbox recon x 2 (don't ask), staring issues I reckon I spent £1.5K in a year. Traded it in for a Mondeo which got the sticky break calliper but was otherwise fine.

In amazing car news - my Fiat Grande Punto has done 40k in a little over two years - and I've not had a single problem. It might be the most reliable Fiat ever.

Hehehe. Good work Sherlock Gray. I can't remember why you deleted your account or if you became "D" after being someone else first.
