How can the colour of icing sugar be sexist?  

I dunno what specifically you're referring to, but sexism is an institution, a product of socialisation and normative beliefs and practices. Few people wake up in the morning and think "I believe women are inferior to men", but they do develop the belief following years of exposure to sexism and the normative practices of society. Those practices being like, language, advertising, etc.. Even icing sugar. It might be a very small cog in an enormous system but it's there never the less.

The mens was blue and the womens pink. Why would that be taken as a sexist slight to women? Why are men not able to say that it's sexist or stereotyping being blue? I think it's all bollocks though, just looking at every conceivable thing to have a pop at. Some people have dull lives.

Because it separates men and women into two categories, which is never a positive thing. Boys get bullied for liking pink, women called "tomboys" etc. We should really be moving past that as a society. I'm not saying we should prioritise it ahead of international terrorism, but that doesn't mean little things aren't important.


Interestingly, pink was traditionally a boys' colour and blue was for girls.. Which shows you how socially influenced it all is.
