Its that time of year for car insurance renewal. I get a renewal quote of almost 200 quid more than i paid last year. I go onto their site and do a brand new quote and it comes in 100 quid cheaper than last year.

Also, i though insurances stopped being favourable towards women? Put my wife as main driver and it went down around 25 quid.

Someone in payroll has fucked up and We haven't been paid. Not good when mortgage is coming out tomorrow. Apparently we are going to be paid at 1 minute past midnight...

You're right, EU gender directive ensures male and females should pay the same. The difference could be down to age, assuming you're different ages?

Are you on the insurers own site or via an aggregator.

If it's an aggregator it may well be that the cheapest insurer may not cover you, but will cover your wife.

Don't worry, we moved from an inner city location with on street parking to a country location with a private drive (and no obvious spike in crime figures!) and our insurance went up £60 a year, despite it being £200 cheaper if we had been seeking a new policy with the same insurer.

Rest assured we will be moving when renewal is due in the summer (cannot move until years policy is up, as to be fair insurer sorted us when had to change the policy into wife's name when my Epilepsy started!)

This whole Gorilla being killed saga. Seems the days of just a tragic accident happening are long gone and unless someone has been lynched for it people are not happy

Poor thing, it should never have been in that situation in the first place.

But could you imagine if they chose to do nothing and the Gorilla killed the kid?

Meanwhile, slaughter houses continue to kill countless animals on a daily basis. Not always humanely.

I was just going to mention this.

But then I do find certain animal rights activists wind me right up. They've clearly taken the opinion that animals > humans and that's not healthy.

If I were you, I'd contact your bank. They can offer a temporary 24 hour overdraft to ensure all is well, if you explain the situation.

As shit and worrying as the situation may be, as the financial planner in me would say, this is why you should have an emergency fund.

But you're not alone, many people are one pay packet away from (almost) destitution.
