I suppose we’ll still set up, essentially, with 1 out and out striker plus a host of supporting players from midfield and out wide.

Is Hope the Woolery replacement? Looks like Wellens had his replacements for Anderson and Woolery already in place. Canny.

BTW, is Woolery OOC?

Central strikers yes as we have Hope/DJ/Woolery(if he signs) as wide/flexible strikers as well as Isgrove again if he signs.

If you look at chances created in our last 8 games you will see how many chances we get, most recent 1st.

Swindon v FGR 0-2
16 shots 3 on target

Swindon v Scunthorpe 2-0
6 shots 4 on target

Swindon v Grimsby 3-1
21 shots 7 on target

Northampton v Swindon 0-1
11 shots 5 on target

Carlisle v Swindon 1-1
10 shots 4 on target

Swindon v Exeter 2-1
12 shots 5 on target

Colchester v Swindon 3-1
15 shots 7 on target

Swindon v Port Vale 3-0
19 shots 9 on target

In those games Doyle only scored in 1 of those games, 2 goals in the Scunny game. Yates only scored 1 goal too in the Port Vale game, yet both Hope and DJ both scored in 2 games.
Wow! Eye-opener, that.

Yes Woolery signed on a 3 year contract originally so is OOC.

I hope Hope isn't the Woolery replacement, but if he leaves then maybe Isgrove will stay or visa versa, I dont mind either way.

I have a feeling that a wide player will be one of the loans we use, possibly for ex Town youngster Jayden Mitchell-Lawson from Derby who spent half the season on loan at Rovers and did well.

Hope was the Doyle replacement, still not really sure where he fits in, or whether he is in Wellens plans and/or good enough for div 1 (39 games and 3 goals previously at that level)

As I said yesterday I have reservations about him but hes scored in every home game he has started and has scored in half the games he actually starts for Town too.

I think Wellens does rate him.

Someone suggesting on Twitter that Billy Bodin could be the player in the last year of his contract who Wellens wants on a perm but his club want to loan out...

He's played pretty much every game in the last 2 seasons...

I can't disagree with that

There's one random guy on Twitter who appears convinced we're signing Yoann Greco from Derby.

Derby are ready to loan him out to get first team experience, very young and highly rated striker. Might be a possible.

Cant see it to be honest. Would have thought he would be on decent money at Preston also?

Would be very handy in a wide left Yates position, or right cutting in. A position he didn’t get to play in under PDC and which is probably his best. Haven’t seen him properly in years, other than highlights.

He fits (what appears to be) Wellens' preferred player profile...
