Striker wise, I’m convinced we’ll sign Nicky Maynard plus a young striker from the league above - Callum . . .
Shang-a-lang....

I have a feeling it will be Maynard 1st choice and Pitman 2nd choice if Maynard wants to move back to the North West with Blackpool....

Not sure a manager getting sacked would stop a deal for someone out-of-contract.

Maybe said goalkeeper wants to hear from the new man if he is in plans before agreeing terms elsewhere, agree though it sounded more like we agreed with the club and player before the manager was sacked.

No worse than Doyle's before he joined us.

Although one has to wonder how much longer he has left as a player.

Tbh, he missed a shitful of chances at the CG last season.

Mind you, do we need more than 2 strikers if Woolery is off or does Hope and Twine fill in any gaps?

That sounds impressive considering that was in league 2 but go back his 11 previous seasons before and see how many he scored and look at how many games he's played in that period so he must be injury prone or he falls out with the manager

I remember him missing 1 chance at the CG for Mansfailed last season but not a shitload TBH, I could be wrong though!

Mansfield as a team were pretty ropey though it has to be said.

Yes his previous few years he was pretty poor for sure but the last 2 season he has been on decent form even if it was in L2.

Eleven seasons is more than a few! Didn't Wellens say Mansfield offered him £4K per week when we were after him last season so he wouldn't be cheap

Just watched the highlights of the Mansfield game, Maynard did indeed fluff 2 good chances but also hit the post and made Benda make a decent save.

You have to be mad to think Twine will be involved. He wasn't deemed good enough for league two so I highly doubt Wellens plans to use him at all.

Wellens said in the interview, he wants 2 striker and 2 wingers. We have Hope, and hopefully keeping Isgrove so thats 6 for the top 3 positions. Assuming Woolery is off based on interview.

Wouldn't cost a transfer fee, hes 1 year older now than he was then so would command less in wages and is out of contract so is currently on £0 pw Wink
