What exactly is his ‘on target strike rate’ ?

Yeah and even if that’s the case why on earth would turn our noses up at 10-15 goal a season striker.

DJ has more potential than Yates and is a better player in the hole than Anderson already.  I'd love to see him here next season to see how he develops.

I liked Yates, good attitude, and was a good option out wide as well as up top.  Just the type of player we needed for last season.  Comfortable with Wellen's ability to find someone to replace and improve on that position.

Not fussed at losing Anderson, he never really managed to fit into a position until last season for a bit.  If I remember correctly there was little reaction to him being Transfer Listed, it just took a year to be get him out of the club and Wellens managed to get his best season for us out of him in the meantime.

How often he is on target with a shot, which shots vs on target shots I would think Yates is around 20% maximum, Doyle would be 90% on target.

We didn't turn our noses up at Yates, he chose to join a different team.

I know what the stat meant.
I wanted to know what his actual % was.

Still think we'll see Doughty play more advanced next season at times, in a 3 alongside Lyden and Grant for example. Not sure we can be as expansive next season.

Then ideally 2 of Hope, Kaiyne, DJ and Isgrove either side of a central striker.

In my opinion DJ has the potential to be a 5/10 million quid player in future and Yates doesn't.

It may seem clinical to think of footballers in that way, but for me DJ is a much more saleable asset than Yates, and as we won't be paying a fee, can potentially offer a higher wage. Had we signed Yates I highly doubt we would be able to afford DJ as well.

Of course this is assuming DJ is signing.

With that line up, if they stay fit then a new keeper and out and out striker and we are close to where we were last season.

Also have Palmer to bring in as an option in midfield who sits deeper and starts moves off.

Woolery, Isgrove, DJ and Hope are all decent attacking options (if they stay/come in) but we still would need a proper striker, an experienced poacher like Maynard to complete it.

I am surprised Yates is that high, and Doyles that low TBH.

Agree with all of this. DJ has huge potential IMO and I was really surprised when Norwich released him considering they'd gone down. Could see him going a long way as there aren't many players capable of doing what he can do.

Yep - if everyone re-signs it's two strikers, two keepers, Donohue and a curve ball utility forward (another DJ). Maybe another CM.

We could, in theory, sign 5 loanees and no permanent players (other than renewals and Donohue).

6 weeks to go - we're stronger now than we normally are but just want some renewals ticked off.
