Hardly a conflict of interest - that would only come if they played in the same competition and the rules prevent that. And I'm not sure we will make Europe in the near future, even if Waterford might.
Also Granada were sold on so are no longer part of the family business. Were sold on, I think to a Chinese owner.

I wonder how Powers bank manager would look at that! Mr Power pays Mr Power £1m But it could become interesting if we start buying from them i suppose in the form of the club

I wonder how Powers bank manager would look at that! Mr Power pays Mr Power £1m Ltd companies do it all the time, with one company supplying another with both under common ownership. Look at the club, there is the historic STFC Ltd which dates back to 18something, but the shareholdings in that are all owned by Seebeck who are in turn wholly owned by Swinton Reds Ltd, all in the ownership of a Mr L Power. (the above is a very rough approximation to illustrate the point but hopefully you know what I mean)

If he was smart and had any ideas what to do with a football ground he could probably buy the ground of the council at the moment for a good price while they are selling everything off to claw money in

Well, let's be thankful he hasn't. If the club had owned the CG at any point over the past two decades, we'd have been a lot more attractive to asset-strippers and I suspect would be much worse off than we are now. I despair at the council and their attitude to not just STFC but the whole town, but perversely the ground being council owned has actually provided it, and hence us, a small degree of protection from the worst excesses of the Jeds and Mikey Ds of this world.

It's dependant on our league position. Last I heard it was around £250,000 a year

Very true but sadly with this council I believe they would sell it off if someone offered them enough cash, I would not want that to be Power as it would not be club owned but privately owned ala the training ground
