If he was in possesion of a bomb and had activated it the public would have asked why the officers didnt react quickly enough .

Yeah, maybe the police thought he was ringing the 'My bomb won't detonate 24 hour helpline.' After all he'd been there for 10 hours and couldn't speak English, what else were the police to think other than his bomb wasn't working. It was obvious that he was getting agitated because he'd been listening to terrorist jazz hold music for so long.

Cheesy thats the best post youve done in ages.

That should reduce the queues at Immigration then. Might cut down our carbon footprint by reducing the number of people going on holiday as well.

Does anybody else have a built in mistrust for coppers? I just can't imagine the sort of people who'd want to become a police offer being anything other that a power hungry twat.

It's not really one of those jobs where you can "make a difference", you'd be better off being a social worker or a teacher or something. I suppose you don't need as many qualifications to be a copper. Is that why people do it, low qualifications relatively high pay? I just can't see why someone would decide that they want to police other people, and not be someone I'd automatically dislike.

I did until I knew a few.  One of them is indeed a power hungry twat and sails that close to the wind he will be caught out but the other lads I know went in it for the career and pay.

There was a point in there, admittedly expecting you to spot it was maybe a little over ambitious on my part. The fact that he'd been at the airport for 10 hours would suggest that if he was carrying a bomb, he would have perhaps cosidered detonating it in that time. I'm no expert on how to commit acts of terror, but I would also assume that it would have been his aim to cause as much carnage as possible. With this in mind it would seem odd that he would draw attention to himself by acting aggressively so people steered well clear of him. It seems that it's too easy to use terrorism as an excuse to justify heavy handed police tactics. I'm sure there must be some alternative method to subdue someone that could possibly be carrying a knife or a gun. If he had pulled a weapon on them then fair enough taserize his ass, but as far as I can see all he did was reach for a stapler. I've messed about with staple guns in my time, but I'll certainly be thinking twice if it means I'll be surrounded by armed police hellbent on shoving 50,000 volts up my khyber.
