But is it acceptable for a police officer to get twatted by some drunken idiot or stabbed by someone carrying a knife? Tasers are already being used by trained armed response officers in this country and there is no plan to supply them to all officers.Simple thing is dont act like a twat .

So you have never embarrassed yourself and done anything that you regret? You've never gone out, got pissed, made a fool of yourself and regretted it the next day? I know I have.................. Of course it's not acceptable for Police to be attacked, I just think that it's a little ott to accept that someone can be killed when all they did was go off on one. |

Ok this guy seems to be a one off where unfortunaitly he got killed by a taser but if he had just relaxed and calmed down the police wouldn't have had to use it. it's not about being perfect it's about respecting the law and those who try to uphold it |

The problem is with giving people like coppers, immagration officials, superhero's etc access to stuff like Tasers is that they'll use them more than they need to. I'm pretty sure that an confused, frightened and angry foreigner is something that these officials had to cope with before they were given super Taser powers.
Anyway, isn't the ability to strike people down with lightening reserved for the gods? Make much more sense to use tranquilliser darts. Give the angry offender a nice pleasant calm down.

yeah. you can see the full video here]. i couldn't stomach watching it all but he didn't look as if he was likely to cause anyone much trouble. reading the beeb article suggests that security were rather heavyhanded - no attempt to find a translator to talk to him, he was waiting to meet his mother in baggage collection. if you were in a foreign country being filmed by strangers and with staring at you, i'd like to see how you'd react. ben's right as well, what would they have done if they didn't have tasers? |
