None of our current squad are ever going to get near this, but after watching Mr Goofy, Ronaldinho last night got me thinking, could he become the greatest player ever seen? They guy has pace, power, dribbling ability, sublime skills and can pass the ball. He did 5 backheels in the first 20 minutes and everyone of them found a team mate.
Clearly Pele or Maradona, maybe Cruyff are regarded as greats but could this guy be better?

No. Yes but you think Andy King is a good football manager so your opinion is null and void young man!!

No it's not because Andy King is a good football manager but Ronaldinho is not even close to being one of the all time greats.

Certainly on the way to becoming the greatest player of his generation but when you rank him alongside Pele and Maradona he’s not in the same class.
I’d put him on a par with Ronaldo a few years ago. Different sort of players but he’s a long way to go and enough time for his stock to drop like the chubby forward’s has in recent years.

I'd agree with that. I saw some of the Barcelona game yesterday and wasn't really impressed by Ronaldinho, a couple of half decent backheels but nothing amazing and he seemed to be delighted with a awful tackle he did. Both sides were poor to be honest, a complete contrast to last years classic. Hopefully Barcelona will go out next round.

For me greatness isn't only about what you do on the pitch in your career, but its also what you can give back after it.....in this regard Pele stands alone, as not only a great player but a great ambassador for the beautiful game.... Maybe Ronaldinho can achieve this.

I don't think we can have a thread about the greatest player ever, without talking about Dwight Yorke

Crouch had a wonderful chance to put Liverpool 1 nil up tonight when he fucked up a chance Mr Bean would have scored.
Because of him the European Champions are out.

Lot of time for the Goat and Zola as well in that respect.
