Dunne is on a par with Pook for me. When we played 4-2-4 earlier in the season I got why him and Linganzi played in the middle for those running around looking busy reasons - he didn't need to be effective, just look like he might be in the way. Pook is a rare thing in football, he looked just as bad in the warm-ups - usually footballers have a decent skill set to have made it in the game at any level and it's just in a game under pressure they can't make it work, Pook looked bad when playing on his own.
I concur, at least Pook scored a couple of goals while running around like a headless chicken, one at Boston being very memoriable, I don't see it in Dunne he just runs around kicking people in what are often dangerous positions on the pitch for us defensively.

Not quite 50 appearances but Alan O'Brien made 40 appearances for us. I really wanted him to become one of the best wingers we ever had but he just could not cross a ball. Someone should've had a word in his ear and told him to be a 100m sprinter. Probably would've had a more successful career. Amazing runner - crap footballer. Shame.
He had the odd game where he looked like he was just on the edge of being something special, problem was it never quite happened and in all the other games he just looked "special". Dunne and Lancashire both possess the ability to foul at regular intervals in the stupidest positions and you can always see it coming.

One of the fastest players I have ever seen but had hamstrings made of glass. Scored one absolutely fantastic goal against Poole in a friendly as part of the Austin transfer, ran the whole length of the pitch before rounding their keeper....flat out at speed. Still shocked he got several caps for Republic of Ireland! Terrible player.

It's likely he suffered hamstring problems do to the amount of stress he put on them with the speeds he could run at. Being a footballer obviously is a different conditioning program to a sprinter. He should've gone down that route. I guess he made a decent wedge out of it and seemed sensible enough so should be ok for the future. Does he mix it up with the "Raider" and play for fun now?

Hence "dogshit"
So what is worse than dogshit?, because we’ve had players that were equally limited but without the ability to win the ball or the effort

I was going to offer up Chris Hay until I looked at his stats - 32 goals in 98 games.
My memory of players and games is poor.
How about Andy Rollins or Russell Lewis?
