Doyle and Yates both score late equalisers...I miss them
I don't as much as I thought I would. I can see the obvious reason why though. Although personally what is more frustrating is that this league isn't that difficult/strong/hard. With the players in this squad, all played correctly etc, there should be enough to survive, maybe even mid table.
I think we're going to still be having this conversation in late April/May. Probably shouldn't have got relegated (if it happens) but a manager jumping ship when he knew he might not actually have the tools to believe his own claims of ability, to one who is devoid of more or less any at all.
I've always been torn regarding the curtailing/cancelling of a season. Always think/feel that this team, with the new additions can fight it's way out of this paper bag but if you are being continually led into paper bag after paper bag, then eventually it's like asking a man with no arms to tear through a Yellow Pages. It's not that the effort isn't there, just the belief of even making a dent becomes vacant and so people start to give up. My own post mirrors this, Caddy's interview mirrors this. Town are in a rut but the manager seems to feel quite comfortable bashing out the same, notionable interview to the point where he is laughing in some kind of delirium soup. "We played really well"...again and again. Maybe parts of that are slightly true...but he's failing to see that it isn't producing positive results and that I'm afraid is a dangerous formula.
What was it about "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
It wasn't Einstein what said it but it seems to ring true at present.
