He aint signed up yet either!
Given "many" clubs are chasing him, he was the one I was least expecting to as well. Stranger things have definitely happened in football though

82% Think after Woolery everyone else is on one. Whilst, I don’t wish to come across too negative - that is a lot of goals for any team to lose and our past experiences of trying to replace prolific strikers doesn’t go well...I still shudder at the mention of Pericard & Benyon or Thorpe & Cureton.

Dominic Sam but is a class above L1.
How do you know that? 26 years old, only 72 appearances and 19 goals Not having a pop or predicting how he'd do in league 1, just wondering why you think that.

Oh, yeah. I think if I was Woolery I'd be looking to move TBH. Not really had a consistent run in the team (though you could argue for a reason/down to him to show more)

Wish we could just get Grant signed up at the very least, although I fear that having seen something of an exodus in front of him he might be waiting for evidence of us having a pot to piss in before signing on the dotted line!

4 in 6 at Championship level with Blackburn before doing his ACL, 3 since football restarted and, one for the stats merchants, he has the highest Expected Goals % of all Blackburn’s front players.

It is totally conceivable that Wellens had at the conclusion of the league 1 season a bloody good idea of who would stay and who would go based on the deals he put to them. As a manager it is his job to understand what makes the player tick and their aims in football. Get a rounded picture of the player and that means off field as well as on field. So making an offer is not 100% about the money. So having said I am totally on board that any expected losses of personel will have been anticipated and appropriate manpower sought to replace. When the ‘official’ transfer season starts I expect some head scratching and possibly some loss of socks.

Dominic Samuel if you keep him fit is an absolute beast of a player, hes massive, fast, good finisher, decent in the air.
If he is over his injury he would be a very good L1 signing.

tbf I think Wellens has made it very clear all along that he is fully supportive of Power and is more than happy with the backing he is receiving. The nay-sayers could probably argue "Well he would say that wouldn't he?" but they largely just seem to ignore what Wellens has said throughout the summer re Power, budgets etc. In some cases I suspect that's because they're not listening to the LSPOD/BBC Wilts interviews themselves, but relying on others' distillation of it where they only report the "We can't get XYZ" and not the more positive stuff.

I love how so many elsehwere seem to know what Wellens is thinking.
For all we know, Wellens might have replacements lined up that he feels are an improvement. Maybe he didn't want to bid too highly because he thinks he could do better with the money available. Remember all the kerfuffle about the right-back we were 'outbid' for last season who was the previous season's player of the year for us? I've even forgotten his name.

No need to wait for the transfer window to open for that, just get my missus to do your washing.

I mentioned about Knoyle earlier as an example of ‘cheapskate Power’. We’ve now got 4 full backs way above Knoyle’s ability.
