People are upset about the possibility of bees becoming extinct, can you imagine the same for wasps? Even the most dedicated etymologist would be like "nah" surely?
You could say the same for a lot of insects that deserve the dodo route. Mosquitoes, gnats, spiders that live in my car door mirrors, woodlice, earwigs, moths infesting my curtains, awful red and black spider thingies in Flashheart's bed (probably), cockroaches, wine flies. But yes, wasps deserve a cataclysmic asteroid impact. Oh...

I hate Sky and other media outputs obsession on stats. For example win percentage with or without a particular player in the team. Half the time the stats are irrelevant and only created to justify someone's job within these organisations. Why don't I correlate the number of times I have a shit with the food I eat, that will surely provide a stat on my productivity at work!!

On the subject of wasps, they are total bastards. half way through my run this morning one of the little shites decided to sting my leg. First time Ive been stung since childhood and I understand why I probably cried then. Little shits.

I think I saw an Asian hornet a few months back, it was about the same size as a box of matches.

Along those lines i got stung by a stinging nettle for the first time since i was about 10 , I forgot how much they hurt, and the weird thing the stings do by taking moisture out of your skin and making it look like leather.

As a walker and habitual shorts wearer, I get stung by nettles all the time, especially this time of year when paths etc get a bit overgrown. Usually I just ignore it, and think clever buggers with their glass like tubes for stinging....on occasions, when it does annoy, then it's the old thing you learn as a kid....dock leaves,...work a treat.

Say what you want about wasps, but they're nicer than people.

Is that a finger going through the bag? The single worst thing as a parent is accidentally getting your nipper's shit on you whilst changing nappies. I hate it. ugh.

I rubbed an onion on it first, then my daughter volunteered to go find a dock leaf and did straight away. Ipads are useful for something then as I've never told her that.
