Surely our wages must be among the top half in the division now?

Power has stated the playing budget is £1.2 million and hasn't said it's changed.

Power did state he "broke the bank" to get Thomas. I've a feeling it's raised slightly with Ajose and him on board. But...The money from Byrne more than covers this of course.

who knows who pays what re: loans
I'm led to believe that often the parent club pays the player's wages and the club taking the loan pays 20% to cover VAT - VAT is charged because the club is hiring a 'service'.

They are all individual negotiations, depending on how bad you want someone. Quite often, certainly in the prem, there is a loan fee payable as well. Guess I'm saying we could be paying from 0-100% Only LP will know, but knowing him it will be nearer 0

I always wondered if there are any "if he plays, we will pay 100% of his wages, if he doesn't then its 25%" type clauses.

Be very very surprised in this day and age if there were'nt clauses like that, after all the parent team wants them playing.

Yes there is, especially from the bigger clubs as it is an incentive for the lower league club to give their players experience. It does work that stfc will agree to pay x of the wages and then they would get invoiced for that amount monthly rather than be paying any monies direct to the player, you got to remember there is Tax & NI as well in there which from memory the players' club pays.

So we are financially better of by playing loan players over our own then.

Yeah, if this completely hypothetical situation you've just dreamed up out of nowhere is true.
