I took it that Obika was a loan move - and all the clubs he has been at on loan (9) it is strange not one of them signed him permanently

My memory may be fading but I remember Obika looking a bit 'I am a prem player' lazy.
Being sold to Swindon should soon make him realise that approach doesn't work though, so let's see. Good to have another option.

I remember Obika playing well against us, well everytime. Was chuffed when we signed him but he was rubbish for us. Surprised he's STILL on the books at Spurs!
If memory services me correct, he missed two good chances on his debut (against Carlisle maybe??) and think perhaps if he got one, he might have got a few more (which was similar to Jamie Slabber all those years back)

How good a deal is it that we sell a promising local boy and there's nothing but praise for the move? More evidence that Power knows a lot more about this business than most of our previous owners.
Though it slightly depends on who we get in today...

I think we all expect most of our assets to go if we dont get promoted this season, so, yes, it is good business.
Although, the fact that we have a number of very good players has eased the sale from a fans perspective

Yeah and its supported because he is out of contract in the summer and he is being loaned back to us for the rest of the season. Had neither of those conditions existed it would be slightly less acceptable, all be it entirely understandable.

Hasn't he not long signed for Plymouth?

Yep, he was on loan there last year, got player of the season, then was released by Yeovil in the summer before signing a two year contract at Plymouth.

Only been there since the summer, he signed a 2 year deal with them after being released from Yeovil.

Agree with this, I was quite excited when we got him before, but he was proper shit. However if he does sign, then clean slate, it's subsequently become obvious that it wasn't a happy camp, when he was here before, and maybe now we might be able to get the best from him...
