I think it's the hypocrisy people are pissed of with, Paul. I know that's what grates me. Swindle this and Swindle that yet not a mention is made of the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford.

And Bournemouth smartly took advantage of our distress, as we would in their shoes.
Isn't that how we got Charlie Austin?

I think it's also the fact that Howe is being touted by the BBC as some sort of managerial messiah (apparently he is definitely a future England manager) when he is doing a good job on a massive budget at Bournemouth.

Indeed, its the hypocrisy and the lack of knowledge of people dribbling over Bmuff. I know we havent exactly been paragons of financial virtue over the years.

It's a strange one. And will be fascinating to see what happens if they do manage another promotion. First place in the table, with the 24th best home attendances. (They're averaging 9,797 at home.) If they weren't on a cash-drip from their owner, that would be noble.
But without the Russian, they're nothing. It's like having a New Forest Pony on steroids at the front of the field half way around the Grand National. You can't quite believe it...and you just know it's going to fall flat at one of the fences sooner or later.

TBF weren't we saying the same thing when Reading and Madjeski got together.
Nobody knows what the Russky's intentions are or how long he is prepared to continuing underwriting the undoubted debts.
If his money is in any way associated with energy (petrol/gas) that time may not be far off

Regardless of money Eddie Howe has done a fantastic job. There's a hell of a lot of managers have had more and achieved less. Also, their trading in players has probably not been as much as people think given the fees they have received and the money for Lallana. Wages is another matter but you can't say they've been wasted. They are also playing some bloody good football. Don't get me wrong, I don't like them and they may well fall hard but they might as well enjoy it while its there. I know I would, although I'm getting more satisfaction out of what we are doing with peanuts.

Hmm, maybe. But tbh it comes across more as bitterness and jealousy

Very good point, and the first time I've seen it made. Surprised it didn't come up at the time of the Ritchie deal, but as for taking advantage of the other club's distress, Austin vs Ritchie+£400k is deeply comforting.

I don't really mind what Bournemouth are doing. Its a good way to fast track success and most clubs would do it if they could.
What bothers me is that I gave them a few pennies (not much, granted) when they were struggling. When our shit kicked off the Muff fans were the most vocal in taking the piss. Buying Ritchie helped us out at the time, and we'd have done the same so that's just unfortunate.
Eddie Howe is a bloody good manager though. Its inevitable he will take them up. Im not wishing their downfall but when it happens I'll probably smile.

Eddie Howe is a good manager at Bournemouth.
I think Burnley fans would feel differently.
I'd expect Coops to be a similar type
