Yep it happened. Word for word I don’t know, but told by people that were in away end this happened and he was being pulled back by other players. Other players IE brewitt however opted to apologise to fans instead.

I can imagine he must be extremely frustrated but Charlie has been a huge disappointment so far this season. Before every game, the opposition comms say how much they'll need to keep him quiet, and by the end of the game they're usually stating how he wasn't that much of a threat afterall. He missed another good chance last night. And we've gone from what looked like a lethal front line to pretty blunt. Charlie just doesn't offer enough going forward.

Hutton would be much better as a RM in a 4-4-2

I have to say I'd quite like to see us Mike Bassett it as well but do we have 2 CBs...? Minturn shouldn't be first XI.

Many had the not entirely mistaken belief, that with the right service Austin would score a bucket load in this league.
Other aspects of his game have helped the team out defensively & he's chipped in with assists.
Overall, does that balance out the relative lack of goals?

Might be worth trying a pacier combo of Young & RHM on Saturday.
Nothing to lose apart from the game & most will be thinking that's a given anyway.

Not read back yet - going to be interesting.

I thought first half last night we were pretty good. We definitely didn't look shell shocked from Saturday, pressed high up the pitch, played nice football and scored a very good goal. Colchester looked a bad side and at half time I was confident we would go on and take all 3 points.

Goodness only knows what happened in the second half, we were sluggish and conceded a sloppy goal  not long after half time. We then seemed to go to pieces, the second goal was just ridiculous. The midfielder picked the ball up in oceans of space and when the ball was fed into the box their centre forward had a fairly easy task in oceans of space to pick his spot. The third goal was just us pushing for the equaliser.

The way our form has gone since the end of September is a concern. Yes we've played some good sides, but Colchester weren't brilliant and second half beat us fairly comfortably. Yet again the difference makers off the bench are stark. Colchester could bring on Hopper and Chilvers, who aren't amazing players but are sound enough in league 2 as options. Yes we've got the random firecracker of Hepburn-Murphy who on his day can get you a goal but aside from him it's all kids. That Hubbard lad looked about 15. Fantastic experience for him but when you need a goal away at Colchester on a cold November evening, it's harsh to expect him to do it.

It's hard to know how to break it down, for me Charlie looks a shadow of the player he was, he's 34 now and it's not like he's looked after himself like Christiano Ronaldo so is starting to look like a sauntering old man. He's also got an attitude/chip on his shoulder which is starting to come out as he's chipping back to fans. When your club captain is doing that, cracks have clearly started to appear. The manager is appearing to be going the same route that happened at Walsall where they started well, but then went on a tailFlynn, not winning in 20. Given the absolutely thin squad, I'm not sure Flynn can go very much. Kinsella for example needs to just sit as a Dm and not move from there, but the way we play is too fluid. We take Charlie off for RHM and continue to try and play balls into the box, that's never going to work.

At least we have an easy game on Saturday! Smiley

I do find this infuriating also. We have to go low whipped crosses once Charlie goes off surely... There is no one there who can win a header!

I get that Charlie's all round game has improved with experience but he wouldn't have made it in the game without the goals. Two open play goals in 16 league games isn't great for a star striker. He just needs to focus on scoring goals.

Austin is almost playing a Hoddle role this season , albeit from the front rather than the back.

I know it's been touched on but is there any knowledge whether Genesini is on a "pay as you play" contract? He IS our player, right? I know,as people have pointed out, not THE answer but surely he should be getting on before the likes of obodo,Hubbard and gray?no disrespect to the lads

I can’t image he’s on a pay as play but might be on ‘x amount per week which will increase to y amount per week after 5 first team games’

Again its difficult to judge Austin when we're not managing his minutes at all and it comes down to the squad problem again.

Even before we had this abortion of a squad composition (again *sigh*) we knew we had to manage his minutes. He's a 34 year old who had a history of injuries when we first signed him back in 2009. This isn't something profound that he might not be able to play 120 to 160 minutes every week. Its fucking obvious.

Clem has fucked us, again. Just like last January.

Can't wait for him to oversee this Jan.

An individual on Facebook. With the initials BS. It won't take a genius to work out who it is but probably not appropriate to use somebody's real name on here:

" Where was everyone with the clem out posts when we were 9 unbeaten
Or is it because we’ve lost a few games its now Clem’s fault "

Fucking infuriates me honestly. Makes me far angrier than any loss or broken promises. Our own fans are this dense. We really do deserve everything we get don't we.

First comment underneath:

" Exactly spot on, lucky to have a football club at all, could have ended up like Bury "

Beginning to think people on Facebook are social experiments.

Whatever the reasons for the position the club is in, it’s not the fan’s fault. It’s not the happy clappers fault, it’s not the doom and gloom merchants fault. Whatever fans think it’s not going to make things better or worse.

He supported Lee Power. These people are the absolute dregs of our fan base. Complete simpletons.

They cannot be told though because they're adamant they're the smart ones.

I disagree to an extent. Of course the situation isn't their fault but their clear lack of understanding of our situation can become harmful.

Happy clappers create a rift in our fan base. a divide. Which means not everybody is on the same page and also means that when inevitably we have to go down some sort of protest route, the people who aren't blinkered and can actually see what's going on are going to be ridiculed for trying to make positive long term change.

When you mention clubs like Blackpool, Coventry, Charlton and countless others. They were all on the same page. They KNEW they were being taken for mugs and they all got together to do something about it. We will just sit and watch our club almost die again because of people like BS who both supported Lee Power and now Clem Morfuni.

Sure, the fans of those clubs protested but I doubt their actions had any effect on when and to whom their clubs were eventually sold.
