Looks like a lot of our support left a few minutes early. Last knockings at Hooters?

Disappointing. But they are decent, on another day, we go 1 up with the penalty shout, totally different game then. Big misses from Chaz and RHM first half, FBT sitter in the second half as well. Both those teams were decent. Both look like top 6 material.

Shows the limitations of a small squad, be a shame if we drift away due to lack of adequate investment.

I saw the inestimable Rich Banyard Tweeted "perhaps if Power had funded a semi-decent team rather than expecting LW to polish turds, we might have played football like this in 2016? ".

Which I think is arguable either way, but also easily can see it being applied to Flynn and the squad depth in a few years...

The game merely showed everything we already know - we are good, but not great.  We have some good players on the ball and we can attack and cause teams problems and it's good to watch, but we are pretty poor at defending and don't really have any defenders who think their primary job is to keep a clean sheet.

Uwakwe looks like a poorer version of Hutton, so zero defensive cover provided on either wing for two centre backs who are being pushed into attack.  Nobody in midfield content to be a destroyer.

I thought we were four players short of a top three team, we still look it all things considered.  I do think Flynn has put together a better overall team than his budget provided - but that may come home to roost if we start getting thin on numbers.  It's basically a first XI and not much else.

Better second half blatant pen yet again at 0-0 not given.

Squad depth though has to improve in Jan if we are to get out of this league

Restored a bit of pride in the second half (how much of that was down to us or them sitting back I’m not sure) but shame the damage was done in that disastrous first half.

Can’t really tell what it was, an inevitability with how we play or us not turning up. A mixture of both I suspect. Either way I hope some lessons have been learnt for when we go up against the other good sides in this league soon, we seemed to go into our shell first half and some looked taken over by the occasion (which wasn’t massive tbf). Stockport seem to be hitting form just in time to play us, similarly will be interesting how we get on against Mansfield. Our squad depth will probably be exposed a few more times I think. Hopefully Clem can give Flynn the tools of a properly equipped and balanced squad in January because Flynn has done well what he’s been given so far.

Some props to Notts County as well, a good side but feel they’d have shit themselves in Luke Williams Swindon Town fashion a bit if that FBT header goes in and then it gets interesting.

Notts 9 leaves one on Hutton at the final whistle. Ref's a cunt, not sure he's why we lost though.
We go again...
He's a considerable factor. The most cast iron pen you will ever see. And theirs? Beggars belief.

I've seen theirs given, I don't think it was ridiculous and definitely the kind of thing that gets given to even things up if we've already had one... except we didn't, he'd turned down a much stronger claim.

Sitting back, managing the game, taking their foot off the gas. Insert whatever cliche fits. Either way, bar the first 10-15 mins of the second half, they regained a bit of ground and managed the rest of the game well.

Are people saying ‘blatant’ penalty from the ifollow angle?

Don’t think the contact is clear at all from that footage. Away fans in the stand should have had a good view though?

We didn't get the breaks but pen or not Notts were worth a 3 goal lead at HT.  Our defending was piss weak.

2nd half much better but even then Notts looked secure at the back.  Much more than we have in similar situations.  But another goal and who knows.  It wasn't to be.

We were also lucky on Saturday.  I think we are starting to look jaded and our invention is just that crucial fraction slower.  The freshness is slipping.  That is down to the thin squad and the demands and sheer no. of minutes foisted on the players after 10 games.

Round the corner, we face international absences, suspensions and prob. injury.  Which will in turn put more pressure on our fantastic players who remain.

Clayton can't come back soon enough.

You do when you’re 3-0 up. They weren’t pressing our defence anything like they did in the first half.

Fair point, but we have to take some credit for our second half performance.
