Nice to be home from a game within half an hour.

Out on penalties but very happy with the performance and plenty of positive’s going forward

just back from snooker. Didn't listen but a 1-1 draw with a strong Posh team based on the official tweets is very encouraging indeed.

Let's take out Crewe

Sounds like the squad performed well in their first competitive fixture, against a team in the league above us who certainly wanted to win. We’ll done Town

Seems like we held our own tonight and coulda even scored another. Very decent squad/side are pboro so lots of positives to take into Saturday. RHM took his goal brilliantly.

Ghost of Tijane Reis missing pens against pboro in cup pen shoots outs continues to haunt us. Fuck you Tijane.
That was the worst penalty I've ever seen. I started walking to the aisle as soon as he stood at that ridiculous angle to the ball.

Didn't know what to expect tonight, with the new faces & style, but my God it was refreshing. The back 3 were solid & all of them looked comfortable coming out with the ball, both wing backs looked dangerous, which gave us options on both sides, not just the right. Kinsella & Kemp have given us what we've been missing in midfied, grit & flair, if I'm honest only Charlie looked a bit off the pace. The performance was typifyed by the goal, last season FBT would have looked for the sideways or backwards pass, today he looked forward played a quick ball through to HM, who finished brilliantly.  I like the Flynn style & filled with optimism after that, really enjoyable! Oh & Tom Brewitt is a good defender, my MoM

Flynn could even be in that rare group of Town managers to have his name actually sung by the fans…
Lindsey did, quite a few times.

Flynn post match with Andrew Hawes:
- Take a whole lot from that.
- Thought we were the better team over the duration of the game
- 23 shots away from home against a very, very good League 1 team who didnt make many changes from Saturday
- Very proud of them
- Did everything well apart from for their goal
- Went 1 for 1. Picked up second ball. Pressed them. They had to change formation
- Wish we'd taken advantage of more chances
- Changes weren't pre-planned, but several players haven't had a pre-season, so was being careful
- Got a small squad at the moment so common sense had to prevail
- Those who came on gave a good account of themselves
- They all stood out today
- Been sending RHM videos of left foot finishes. Don't want him turning down opportunities on his left.
- They are all in tune
- We are going to play football
- We found ways to break lines all over the pitch
- Thought we were brilliant today
- Mahoney is a keeper with a bright future.
- Didn't have many saves to make but made 2 brilliant ones
- Thats the standard to maintain
- Better tonight than vs Plymouth as it was a competitive game
- If we play like we did against Plymouth every game then we won't lose a game
- That won't happen as players do have dips in form etc
- McEachran was ill this morning. Didn't want the illness to rip through the squad
- Cain had a back spasm
- Genesini: Done well. Got him at the right price. Can play a number of positions. We might have a little gem

Phil Smith post match:
- Wouldn't imagine too many more signings unless Flynn wants a particular player. Squad has depth
- Pleased Mahoney did well with a couple of good saves
- RHM and Brewitt played well and were MotM contenders
- Kemp best of the debutant. First half was fantastic. Should have scored in second half when 1 on 1 with keeper.
- Jake Young caught the eye with quick feet and good touches

I think we had more shots yesterday against Peterborough than we did in any game last season, including the two games in which we scored five. Shows the style change.

Thanks for the quotes NMH.

Just watched the highlights. Coupled with the reports it all seems really positive. Still a couple short but hopeful we can be in the mix this year. RHM could be our break out star I think.

Surprised watching the highlights, as they don't seem to back up what Flynn said:

Small sample size though. I see the full match replay is up on the O.S. Will be interested to take a look at that later...

Watching the highlights, if Mahoney had been beaten like their keeper was for RHM's goal we would not be happy!

Yes, that was woeful positioning. Fair play to RHM, he spotted it and capitalised.
