Seeing the memories of John Aldridge baiting on the Tranmere thread got me thinking about how he was a fantastic target for fan mockery.

Which also made me think, which other players would join him as ones you love to hate?

There's Joey Beauchamp after he went back to Oxford, but that's a unique case.

John McGinlay comes to mind, from the matches against Bolton.

Any others?

Ive thought about this at length (well... maybe 2 minutes max)...and I've realised I don't have the energy to hate anyone, not even in a pantomime villain kind of way...

Good call!

I can't remember many mangers that attract a response like he does and I don't think it's just from us.

Panto villain level is all I do nowadays, I'd happily have a pint with just about any of them these days.

I remember us giving John Aldridge a fair bit of stick in a game against Tranmere; he scored a late equaliser and gave us a wave as he did so. I remember thinking "We had that one coming..."
