Be great to get gazumped by Barrow - to add to the list of the other footballing giants of Barnet and Wealdstone that have more appeal.

Watling’s wife plays for Southampton women - so if he ends up at Barrow he really doesn’t fancy Swindon.

So you’re saying, for once, geography might be in our favour…  Hmmm no doubt, we’re not even in for him, though

The key question is; has he been to Clementes' house?

Wonder if we have the same source! haha. I'd heard similar. Yet another twist in the saga that is putting someone vaguely competent in the CG dugout for next season.

Bet the bastard was demanding something outrageous - like getting paid.

Maybe it wasn't a deal that was ever on. Just a name to throw out there

Kennedy just went up in my estimation if so!

Im hoping for Harry Watling, and of course, i say that knowing pretty much nothing about him apart from what ive read on wiki Kennedy seemed like a bad choice after reading Lincoln discourse.

Watling was a Chelsea youth coach who overlapped with Morris and he managed Brewitt at Hartford in the US.

Two phone calls that will kill any interest he has in this job you'd think.

So who are the managers out of work that we can 'fairly realistically' look at

Mark Kennedy - rumours suggest we tried and failed (I've no idea either way) and looks like a no go
Harry Watling - Never managed before but has good coaching credentials. Worked with Michael Beale at Rangers
Martin Paterson - left Burton after a pretty terrible season. Doubtful
Pete Wild - Done really well at Barrow and will be in high demand. Very doubtful
Gavin Gunning - definitely the best candidate in the eyes of our owners. Likely.
