The Club to come out publically stating

"we made him a good offer but he chose to stay where he is"

trying to appease fans by saying we will pay compensation for him and then we make him a pitiful salary offer which they knew he would turn down.

Or am I just cynical?

I thought it was a weird course of events. Surely, it goes

Contact Barnet for permission
Reach agreement with Brennan
Then agree compo with Barnet.

We will never know.

I doubt it's a low salary that's the problem though.

You would think it more likely he didn't fancy it given the tools he was to be given, or he is just loyal and enjoying where he is right now.

As we are all dooming I know how most of us will think about it.

The problem was the club confirming that talks were ongoing to the adver. A poor play unless you are 100% confident.

I just hope this confirms there is no way they can go back to Gunning.

I think compensation is normally agreed on before contract talks commence.

Comp before personal terms. Though we would have had an indication from Brennan before agreeing comp with Barnet.

Shame, i thought it sounded like a good move.

Who would want to come here- this will be our 6th manager in Clems reign

Nothing at all will change without new owners- I fear the only way to achieve this is to starve the club of revenue I’m afraid

Don't worry. I expect our CEO, with all his football contacts, is on the phone now, lining up the next one!

You would think so. I mean you don't discuss personal terms with players before you agree a transfer fee so not sure a managerial appointment would be any different.

Another new low! The only sport involved with this club at the moment is being a spectator to the world's longest, slowest car crash. We just need a player from Supermarine/Chippenham to reject us.

Even for STFC, surely not. Surely we have not gone this low as a club.
