Perhaps he could bring Nicke Kabamba with him. Turned 30 but he’s 6’3” and could team up with Glatzel well. Scored bundles.

Im starting to like this appointment more and more. If compensation has been agreed, i cant imagine personal terms would be a problem.

Generally teams don’t go as far as agreeing compo unless they have some indication that the manager has interest in the move.
I know officially it’s meant to be the case of doing that first but rarely happens that way nowadays.

Gillingham have already appointed Bonner.
That’s a fair point, maybe that’s why we think we have a better chance of getting him

Being Irish, you do wonder who his agent is. Is it the usual agents that seem to hang around the club doing another ‘favour’ and he’s already been tapped up? Hope for their sake they insist on money up front.

Only 5 league goals in 60 odd appearances, scores a fair few goals in non league but never made it at league level in 4 attempts and aged 31 he would be no better than keeping on Charlie Austin IMO.

Well he’s scored 44 in 84 playing under Brennan. Maybe he’s worked him out.

Does he fall under the umbrella of ‘He could do a job for us’ type player?

I think I'd prefer this type of appointment assuming it goes ahead (a manager performing well on a small budget in a lower division who will want to prove themselves) as opposed to the same old names.
A tad uninspiring, sure, but it's fresh and it's different and you could argue we need different.
My main worry is unless things drastically change, he won't get the backing and support from the boardroom that he needs, and it'll be the same as Lindsay, Morris, Flynn etc.
