Didn’t he say that the budget would be cut, and that we would rely on loans?
Neither of them happened. The budget was increased and we didn’t rely on loans for the first time in a long time.
The budget was cut. Surely you can see that?

Some people have a real hard on for the Duke on here. Yet everyone at some point has said something that hasn't happened. Not everything he says is 100% right but there is no doubt he is talking with people that have more insight than most on here and I am always interested to hear what is being said, whether it turns out true or not.
Some things can’t be posted on forums.

The overall budget, including wages and transfer fees, was bigger this season than last, that’s not an opinion it’s a fact. Money spent on Cain, Clayton, Hutton, The money was certainly not spent well, but more was spent than last year on both wages and fees.

Transfer fees? - all based on sell ons. Wages massively cut. Granted the squad this year bigger but the core massively reduced in quality and the aged contracts were considerably higher. Gladwin and Reed the last of the bigger ones. Frenchie took a cut. Williams on his way, let down on an agreement.

We all get things wrong mate, you were wanking over Morris when he was appointed
So was I. My knob looks like the after burners on an RAF Typhoon fighter.

On Williams was it an agreement he could go in Jan? Sounds like he was on his way… and then he wasn’t.

My understanding was that he would do this season for the same money (I assume due to the financial shitstorm the club faced after Pee Lower tried it on) and he would get a new improved contract to reflect the ‘loyalty’ in staying. It would appear that someone has had a change of heart on one side.

Missing the £700k in from the Twine sell-on.

TBF, There have been many clubs over the recent years with a smaller budget than we have had who have had sucess st our expense. It’s not about how much you spend but how wisely you do so.

I'm not in the know but that figure is branded around on different sites so it's as true or false as any of the snippets we all read.
