This, absolutely this.

Also, genuinely surprised they will be bringing near 400 for a meanlingless game.

Anyone else think this is a thinly veiled dig at both Lindsey and Morris's time as manager from Mad Gave Gunning?

https://www.totalswindon.com/sport/gavin-gunning-wants-to-give-the-fans-some-excitement-in-the-final-game-of-the-season/

Sounds like a middle finger to the dull slow boring football we have endured in most games this season under both previous incumbents.

The more I hear the more I really like him, comes across well in interviews which is a breath of fresh air when compared with both of his his predecessors, see also the style and approach he takes.

Gonna put the cat amongst the pigeons if we thump Crawley, Mad Gav in!  Cheesy

Sounds like a way to win fans over so we can appoint him in 6 weeks too Smiley
You old fucking cynic, FWIW I can see that being a very "Swindony" way Wink

I mean he might not be the greatest coach in the world, but just by interviews alone he's absolutely class. I'm in his home town this weekend, will be supping on the black stuff and will raise one to Gav should he lead us to a thumping success!  Pint

I could see the fans warming to Gunning. He has a bit of personality about him. I'm not sure that he'd be the best possible appointment, but if it was that or another unproven guy, I wouldn't be mad about it. A lot to be said for having a bit of fun in life, we're never going to be a Prem club again (and nor would I really want to be) so let's enjoy football for what it is.

Although...

I have never heard of someone being called a good coach when they are losing games.

Someone needs to fill him in on Luke Williams!

Ability to correctly identify a crustacean over a small firework should be a key factor in our search.

In an off topic thread derailment of top TEF quality, isn't a squid a mollusc rather than a crustacean?

And THAT is why I can never manage Swindon Town FC!

Cain has not set the worl alight but still been better than Reed was this season for us. On the flip side to that i am willing to hazard a guess that if Cain was in a midfield that consisted of Payne,Williams Gladwin and had the forward line we had last season he would look a lot better too.

Cain getting battered this season by fans for not being great when half his games he has been the most experienced player with less than 20 games under his belt i thought was really cuntish to be fair

He should have have been bought in to add to a midfield with experience but instead has been stitched up

I sat next to him at dinner the other night, a really nice lad and he is completely down to earth on where he is currently and where he wants to go.  He said it has been a massive difference moving into permanent mens football, and even though he had his stint at Newport, he said that Swindon has been a massive step up in terms of quality of player, quality of facilities and size of club.

He knows that he hasn't done himself justice yet, even he felt that his game against Crewe was his best so far but he knows that he has a lot of work to do to get his levels up, but he is looking forward to a proper pre season and a full year to prove that he has got what it takes to be a regular in this team.

One thing I can catagorically say, nobody here will actually fathom how young and small this squad is until you meet them - we know their numbers yes, but sitting next to Cain felt like sitting next to a teenager - George Mc, my god he looked like a baby and Jack Copland didn't look old enough to be out that late and should have been off doing his homework.

Bar Austin and FBT, I would fancy myself against any of them in a battle for a donut.  Even Sol, though he is obviously towered over me, I have seen more meat on a savaloy.

in your opinion

Cain has had one decent game and nothing else to say 'pick me'.

I don't think the real Cain will be seen until next year.
