Another tough trip on the road to promotion rivals Mansfield Town who we've played 49 times since 1931 winning 23, drawing 15 and losing 11

Many older fans will remember the signing of Colin Calderwood from the Stags in 1985 was the start of the resurgence of STFC under Lou Macari making 330 appearances in his eight seasons before signing for Spurs in 1993

Mansfield 0 Swindon 2  Jephcott & Wakeling Att: 6,789 (690 Robins)

Feeling positive for 3 points here - if we retain playing Jephcott and Wakeling as a 2 up top. The difference in Wakeling’s performance was stark when moved back to a central striker position.

The question is: is reverting back to the disliked 3-5-2 worth it overall.

Anyway, piece of piss. 1-4

Away from home 352 has generally worked very well. Its the home games for me which totally work against it as the opposition sit in and the 3rd cb is wasted

Is there a designated away fans pub between the station and the ground?

Sold out our initial allocation of 700. Pay on the day available. Probably be close to 1000 going.

Great turn out!

That is great support to be fair. Quite a big end at Mansfield, isn't it though?

Can be a little feisty at Mansfield.
They have an element like most clubs have.

There's history of away fans getting attacked at the Railway Inn

Could be an interesting team selection today. Will Baudry come back in which would be harsh on Brennan?Darcy for Aguiar maybe and does he go for a twin pronged attack with Jephers and Wakeling? Fascinating

I'd quite like to see a 4-4-2 diamond with Williams as the 10, we get so much width from our FBs while Darcy and Gladwin often drift out too so wouldn't leave us looking too narrow I wouldn't have thought.

I’d like to see that too. With Iandolo likely to start, we get the width both sides. I’d be tempted to go with a diamond of Reed at the base, Gladwin and Khan, with Williams roaming. Darcy is a good option from the bench at the moment. I suspect he’ll stick with Brennan. If he can get a run of form, it’s like a (brand) new signing.
