Bar Jack Payne i wouldn't say we are much weaker and that's not knowing what the other midfielders offer

This isn't one of my negative posts, but what have you seen that makes you think that.?

I'm not saying you are wrong, I've simply not seen enough yet personally

We certainly have more competition - which is good.

Given a choice I would have preferred to have JoJo in place of the Middlesbrough keeper as well as Egbo & Hunt who we knew all about. Like Batch I don't know much about the new players brought in and may be pleasantly surprised.

Let us hope we are pleasantly surprised otherwise it is another season in this shit league and the goodwill will have evaporated.

Exactly that and like last season it feels like we're going into the unknown again and have no idea what to expect.

For me it was i seen enough last year, infact the last few years. Our defence cost us last season and i think we will have a stronger defence this season. Conroy,Odimayo and Hunt were all part of a very poor defence last season. My gut feeling is that Brenna MacDonald and Clayton will be improvements. I also think Shade and Hutton will be an improvement on the wise players we had last year.

We are weaker without Payne though like i said and that's my main worry this season, the 3 who play in the middle will be key

Fair enough shrivvy.

I think shade will actually prove to be more of a consistent and more useful performer then egbo (controversial), and McDonald should be very good based on his pedigree  - not up to speed yesterday unsurprisingly.

But for me the jury is out on every other position we've recruited.

I mean just that. I've not seen much to excite me and yet I fully appreciate the two preseason games I've seen were the worst to judge (supermarine and yesterday).

I remember being like this last year too to be honest! Took a few games .

It's going to be interesting.

He came on during the last third of the game. Don't really recall him standing out one way or the other

I think that's good enough for a first appearance

Cheers, slipping under the radar Is probably a good thing slowly bedding himself in without too much pressure on him.

He replaced MacDonald. Think he was caught out of position for the 4th goal.

For me Clayton is more of a Defensive Midfielder than a defender.  That’s where he played at Wokingham  and looked more comfortable

I am hoping that's where he ends up alongside Reed
