prematch I said this was like a playoff fixture. the attendance, atmosphere and passion from the crowd and players did not disappoint. was a brilliant evening.

I won't say much about the game, we needed to win and we did. the ref ruined a comfortable evening. I think Garner switching to a back 5 could have made it more comfortable. in his words we had to concede ground on the wings to focus on the middle. I don't agree but as said we won and il let him off that one. on to Saturday!

Att: 11,150 (692)

I was close 😀

Saw the below chart on the Vegans forum which highlights our form home and away😅
One goal decides the game Att, 11,045 inc 650 away fans.

I can’t remember the last time I felt that tense at a match.

Both teams were incredibly open in the first half, which let us attack a bit more directly and we looked a lot more dangerous for it. Expect it will be a lot more difficult on Saturday

Magnificent defensive effort, which was unexpected. Absolutely outstanding levels of shithousery too. Particularly liked egbo doing a lap of the ground to tell each ball boy to slow down giving the ball back

Only dark mark would be Ward. Thought he could have done better for the goal and distribution was poor throughout (although not helped by it constantly being played onto his left foot)

Fans reacted well to the challenge too. Best it’s been in a long time

Every player worked as hard as we could possibly have asked tonight. Good performance to go two up, better to limit their chances. Jack Payne was the pick of the bunch for me. Just an exceptional work rate, and sheer determination.

Cadden looked a class act and Edwards has a tidy side. No idea who 22 was, but he clearly said something to Williams, whose reaction was immediate. I don’t think the ref was going to send Iandolo off until their skipper started pointing his way. Suppose they had to try and get back in it. They didn’t look as though they would at 2-0 and with 11 men.

And the crowd - more of the same needed on Saturday. That was how it should be.

Special mention to the Lino on the DRS side, the worst I’ve ever seen. Completely incapable of making a decision, didn’t give a single offside all game and even missed crosses going behind the goal before coming back in. Christ knows how these muppets get anywhere near the football league.

My favourite quote from the gump forum

"How can we play against a referee like this."

What the actual fuck

He gave us absolutely nothing.

This.

And this plus + from my mate sat next to me who was neutral. As in ‘he gave us nothing’

I thought the village side played some nice football at times, how their fans can moan about the officials is beyond me though. They're getting excited about league one, shame it's just a marginally better league two.

I watched that with the FGR commentary. Jeez, they were amateurish.
