If I may doom cycle some more, if we did go up, it's hard to see how Clem funds a L1 budget, but hey, that's a nicer problem to have isn't it?

May be more open to selling with a L1 valuation?

It feels like 100% of the focus is on the pitch. Which isn't a bad thing as long as the pitch goes well. I think we'll have a decent season, but it does feel like if we don't, things could go south fast as there aren't a ton of foundations being built on here.

It's Holloway or the highway.

That's how I look at progress, if Holloway goes* then what's better?

This is very much a 'from a man down the pub' rumour but has anyone heard anything about council mandated safety issues at the ground? I'm led to believe there are bills running into hundreds of thousands that are basically being ignored.

As with all rumours, I've no way to know how accurate what I'm told is, but thought it interesting enough to pop on here and see  anyway.

The Spirit of 69's recent statement seems to indicate they're aware of more usual Clem fuck ups in the pipe line.

https://x.com/so69fangroup/status/1951293429473739025

A short update from us on the eve of the season.

As stated earlier in the summer, our primary focus was campaigning against the ground redevelopment and then taking a watching brief before making a concrete plan of action.

That position hasn't changed; we continue to monitor activity behind the scenes, and fully expect major developments and issues caused by Mr Morfuni's systemic incompetence to appear again as the season progresses.

Despite a summer of optimism on the field, our club continues to wither; court cases rumble, the ground crumbles.

We remain steadfastly committed to protesting both digitally and in person until Mr Morfuni and his cabal leave SN1, but timing is everything.

Best of luck to Ian Holloway and the boys tomorrow, and to the incredible #STFC fans traveling in numbers over the next five days, give the players everything, knowing they'll do so in return.

From So69:

Serious operational issues are never far away at Mr Morfuni's #STFC, with two major concerns on the horizon calling into question the CG's viability as an EFL venue ahead of their opening home game next weekend:

🚨After three years of total neglect and a recent lack of investment and upkeep, Swindon Borough Council's Event Safety Advisory Group have identified critical stadium safety upgrades that will cost £250k+ to remedy, including emergency vehicle access.

🚨A local supplier critical to matchday operations and fan safety are owed a six-figure sum, with their very generous patience and goodwill finally running out ahead of this Saturday's fixture.

Holloway, positive summer vibes and other distractions are just that. Distractions. This club is on its knees.

Mr Morfuni is back in the UK this week. Fingers crossed he finally sees sense and realises he is neither fit nor able to continue running our football club.

I think Platinum are owed money and potentially won't work on Saturday unless it's settled. Could be an interesting week off the field.

The ownership of the club sounds like the UK in general on a knife edge.

Dolph not been paid again then (that's my guess).

I assume they will do the ground work and with less than a week to go out much be underway

Ah missed this. Thanks for confirming. Happened around the Aldershot game too didn't it, that time we had a bizarre 1/2 price kit sale.

I assume there's no suggestion that the safety stuff is a risk to the game.

Honestly? Im not sure. There are safety concerns that have to be addressed that will cost money which potentially could affect the game, but you would think surely the club would resolve that, given they've forked out for the pitch stitching etc.

Reading that the metal gates to let an ambulance onto the pitch needs to be fixed.

That's my assumption yes.

Might be why a bit of the town end isn't on sale though. But it's just one block, seems unlikely safety wise
