He had two spells at the club - once under Power, once first year of Clem. Same job, head of media type thing. I don't know how long he stuck around under Clem but no more than a season.

Needs to sort his LinkedIn then  Wink TBH I always take comments about previous employers with a pinch of salt (much like fans of players we sign), not sure there are many of mine I couldn't be negative about if I wanted to be!

This is the start of a very slippery slope. Also proves the club / ownership are paranoid as hell.

I worked under Clem. He had no understanding of how the media works, and probably still doesn’t. No leadership, no direction. This won’t be Callum’s fault, either. Let me be clear, This all comes from the top. Dating back to when I was at the club, staff members with experience, knowledge and passion were never listened to, instead treated as pests and as threats.  This was always going to happen, sadly. Clem is out of his depth. Period. Feel for Joe-Adver

I’m as anti-Morfuni as anyone, but this isn’t a big deal is it? This will likely be from Holloway, because live blogs are short form, and lose the context and tone of a discussion, and for someone who likes to shoot the breeze, things can get taken out of context if all we get is a snippet. I’m not suggesting the Adver has done that, but all it will have taken is a single instance and Holloway will understandably want to do all he can to control a positive narrative this year. He’s no fool, and he will see it from the fans side, even if he won’t admit it. Any media control is dangerous, but I kind of get it here, because Holloway knows it takes so little to light the blue touch paper with this fan base and the current ownership. It’s risk mitigation.

I feel for Joe and the Adver. It’s not as if the print media need any more barriers to getting content out, but we all know he’s destined for greater things (the Moonraker!) when Sam moves upstairs to manage the burgeoning empire of outlets.

So would you rather him have not said anything now if you don't see the point?  People talk when they feel they can talk..  If Rob Angus came out now and gave insight into what he was actually going through at the time, would you say what's the point and have the same view?

A lot of people just don't want to be dragged back into the rhetoric so keep quiet, until something happens that triggers them to speak.  Plus with our club there is the added risk of Adam Hart and his buddies showing up on your doorstep, it's not like there isn't amy history of that right..

So it's taken a ban on live reporting for ASD to speak up? Really? that was the tipping point for him?

I've just been speaking to someone who says he knows ASD, I've no reason to doubt them - but make your own mind up. The background was along the lines of :

He was pretty happy in the first few months after the take over (and to be fair many of us were), hence I suppose the "club back" posts.  But it started to change a bit a few months in - no idea the specifics.

ASD wanted to go to the USA and it seemed this may have been a catalyst to do that. But he was persuaded to see the season out and was told there was a "sponsorship" of some sort from Clem's US business to help him get a foot in working the USA if he stayed.  Of course this wasn't actually forthcoming and so he was left in some kind of poop around his visa application (or whatever it is you need to work there before green card status).

Now putting myself in his shoes I can understand where he is coming from. Would you want to rock the boat at the time you are trying to get employed in the USA under those circumstances? You start slinging mud it may harm you even if it is justified.

As to why now? I guess its been gnawing away and despite trying to move on from it all, the latest club foolery stuck a nerve and he let some of it out.

From the BBC Wilts radio replay of the interviews, I do get the sense that IH isn't a big fan of the Adver/Joe, due to some of the previous headlines, so this might have something to do with it?

Definitely a few remarks.

But I think other managers have similarly taken issue, its always seemed quite odd to me as at the time I've never really taken it the way they have. Even Charlie Austin got pissed off at a piece that sang his praises that he wasn't scoring but was massively contributing. That crap phrase "dig me out" was used.

Now I know its dead easy to go CT and think everything the club does is brown and smelly. I have probably done that. But if feels a bit orchestrated. Squash the young kid keep him in line. Not specifically this live blog stuff - I don't agree with them but at least I can see why they think context matters.

Getting fucked around in the Visa process probably wouldn't help a persons frame of mind - it's a stressful process with a willing employer, can't imagine it with an employer stringing you along.  It's also very expensive for the employer, which would suggest they actually got next to nowhere in the process, but as the employee you put everything on hold because the timing is not in your hands.  As a small, simply irritating thing, you are advised not to travel abroad because you never know when you will get called in have to hand over your passport for a few weeks.  It's a first world issue, but basically you go on pause if you think you are in the process.

I find him utterly insufferable - but I don't have to like him, it is about what goes on on the pitch

There's an interview with Sean Wood in the Moonraker about his departure, which doesn't sound altogether ideal in terms of the academy direction. You'll have to read it, but he's very positive about people who used to be involved, and essentially has nothing at all to say about people who still are (Holloway and Bignot aside).

I read it as under paid and under valued as one factor, and a changing dynamic as the local staff move on. No so much a falling out.

At least he was complimentary of Ollie/Bignot.
