Even if it were due to people turning up later than normal, surely any sane individual could have anticipated that due to the sub zero temperatures that people might not be getting there early.

But that would take some form of logical forward planning, which we know is not a strength of this mob

I imagine they know, I hope they do anyway, but they are just trying to get away with what they can.  Based on my recent visit, having not been back for two years, it's a shocking state of affairs at the moment.  It's much more noticeable when you don't visit for a while.  The CG is seemingly replicating the Town Centre.

Supporters club bloke called out supporters removing tape blocking the seats.
Why were stewards not at closed off section/s? There was one at bottom of the stand explaining what was happening

Not when we went up there wasn't.. We were told it was still a bit slippery is all (and it was).

That's terrible direction of stewarding.

We sit in the Don Rogers near the front in the middle and the PA system works fine. We heard all the announcements about the game.
Can't hear a thing in d6u but that some of it is working gives hope.

The fact a section of our fans lap up the club blaming fans every time is infuriating.

6 turnstiles we're closed at the far end of the DRS on Saturday. Surely the matchday staff could build in some flexibility so they can react quickly to queues and open more booths?

You're only employing someone for half an hour or so. How much can it cost?

I'd imagine they don't have trained staff on standby, and that 20 minutes fan inconvenience isn't concerning to them.

"Well run club" = cut to the bone. Which I can sort of understand when you are losing 1m a year but there is a critical mass, the bare minimum needed, and it looks like we are below it

"Wouldn't be an issue if those pesky fans didn't show up".

A great hill to die on. I love this club so much

The Arkells stand turnstile nearest the Legends Lounge entrance was also closed - for the second consecutive game.
No explanation of course -  and bag searches slow down the process of getting in.
I missed the Colchester game but was told that the queue was worse than on Saturday (presumably the impact of a bigger crowd on New Year’s Day).
The OSC’s defence of the Club’s approach to the DRS issues is shocking.
In freezing conditions there are two criteria to be satisfied before the game is on both should be met.
1. Pitch is playable and not dangerous to the players - the excellent work of Matt Povey and his team / any volunteers meant that aspect was fine.
2. The spectator areas and the ways in which we access / exit those should be clear and safe. If areas of the DRS were “taped off” that clearly is an issue. If they are closing a section, they should be communicating this clearly, including telling those with tickets for that section where they have been relocated to, and have sufficient stewards to ensure that this process is properly managed. Just putting tape and then criticising people for moving it is unacceptably negligent. Based on what those who sit in the DRS are saying - on here and on Twitter - the Club clearly failed on this one and should be held to account for that.  It’s not good enough for people to simply say “stop moaning”.
Hopefully the Trust will be raising this in their communications.

I'm sure some people were told, Blinkpip got moved to the TownEnd for e.g. We weren't but we were one of the first up the stairs.

But I'm amazed there was nobody on the tape giving direction to make it idiot proof. The number of people going up into the stands it would have been very difficult to get the message to everyone from the bottom.

They are quick enough to come to the back to tell the standers to "sit down".

Failure from above - which presumably is a club H&S bod and heads of security/stewards..

Even the areas of the DRS that were not taped off were dangerous and very slippy. You climb those steps with care on a normal day.
